"Our dining experience got off on the wrong foot when the Maitre'd told us he could not seat us outside, despite the two dozen empty tables and it being fairly early in the evening. He hemmed and hawed and said maybe he could move things around and so we sat inside despite it being a lovely evening. The service was quite good very attentive. The food was hit or miss. An antipasto had a delicious smoked octopus big, meaty, yet tender tentacles on top of some sort of grain mixture that tasted like shredded cardboard. A primo of spaghetti with clams was very good, and a bolognese was also good. A spaghetti pomodoro was tasteless really, noodles and Ragu would have been better. A short rib ravioli was OK. The prices were very steep for simple Italian comfort food. It is South Beach and we did go (early) on New Year's Eve, but dinner for four, two of whom are children, topped $300 (including one of the most modestly priced bottles of wine). For that price, the food should have been spectacular and it wasn't"
