"In town visiting my wife's family and was recommended to try this place out by the locals. I heard the service and food was outstanding so I thought I'd give it a try. Immediately after entering the establishment we were greeted by the staff and helped by the hostess, whom I later found out to be Angie. She was extremely knowledgeable in helping us decide on what to try, being that it was our first time at this establishment. Angie recommended we try the Boston lobster, and that we get the topping on the side. I must say it was amazing, we loved the fried lobster and fresh toppings along with the salmon my wife ordered. To our surprise, Angie was also the one who prep'd the drinks, so we had her serve us an apitzer shot which was very satisfying so we ordered a few more shots and a cocktail which had my party set for the night. We will definitely come again, when in town and we'll be recommending this place to others. We appreciate the service and amazing food Mikasa. Thank you Angie!"

"There were not many people in the restaurant, while almost every other place nearby was packed. We thought this might have been a sign that the locals had deemed the place unworthy of a Friday night hang out spot, and decided to give it a shot for some appetizers with the possibility of staying for dinner. It took 45 minutes for us to get our drinks, and we were there for over an hour by the time we saw our appetizers. On top of that, the waitress was rude. When we asked if we could order drinks, she cut us off and said she was going to get a note pad and then didn't come back for ten minutes. Our group probably would have had three rounds of drinks and eaten full meals if we had been treated properly, even though the food was just average and small in portion. Skip it."

"Their sushi is alright, nothing spectacular, but it's still good, you should check your takeout order before leaving, they always try to rush me out and when I got home I realized they got my order wrong. 10/04/2022 Update: I tried Mikasa againtoday, it's been almost a year since I've had their Sushi, I ordered the Spider roll and Salmon Sashimi appetizer, total wasamazingly cheap, $21, that's it! But when I brought it home and opened the box I was disappointed, it looked more like a salad,I didn't see a roll just a mountain of rice! When I tried to pick it up the piece fell apart, each piece fell apart. The onlygood thing was the Sashimi, it was delish!"

"Tanpopo in Buchanan Mall in Japantown offers delicious piping hot ramen that hits the spot. In addition to assorted shoyu and miso ramen, they also serve non-noodle dishes like broiled mackerel and gyoza. Guests can sit at the counter and watch Japanese TV while enjoying their meal. The only unique aspect of this restaurant is that they do not serve hot tea unless it is ordered from a can or bottle displayed on the counter. However, they will heat it up for you and serve it in a teacup. Despite this unusual practice, the satisfying ramen makes up for it. The service can be hit or miss, as some servers are more attentive than others, but in Japantown, the focus is primarily on the food rather than the service."

"Good food quality, nothing really stood out though. All the sushi rolls were hot/warm, had to put them in the fridge when I got home. Salt Pepper Calamari was good, grilled squid was okay but definitely preferred fried calamari as an appetizer. After cooling, we ate the sushi rolls and flavor did improve but nothing really stood out as I mentioned before. Decided to try it out as the typical sushi joint I go to started closing on Mondays and Tuesdays, needless to say, I will wait till Wednesday next time. Friendly staff though."

"This place is an excellent example of why you should never judge a book on the cover. The interior is a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The service is wonderful, even if the place is packed is also a witness to the food that is amazing. To complete it, our order was originally incorrectly prescribed, which was honestly not a big deal, but it went beyond and well beyond to for something I would probably not have noticed. Our server, Tammy, was really a pleasure and very charming. The chefs are incredibly polite and even the time taken to ask how we enjoyed it is meal. Everything and all a wonderful experience and extremely good food. We'll be back soon."
