"Wow, where should I start? As soon as I entered, I was greeted with warmth and friendliness. The food was served hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The prices are quite reasonable given the generous portions. I truly believe this is one of the best restaurants on Georgia Avenue. It's a delightful place for a wonderful dinner with friends and is very family-friendly. They also have a bar and a private area that can be reserved for private dinners or parties. Overall, it's simply outstanding!"

"A bad experience. Buy chicken areoz chaufa, fish ceviche and jelly. The jelly was okay, but the quantity and size was very poor. Not just the quantity But what the food looked like. Without mentioning that the tartar sauce or the canchita did not come. I didn't provide the ceviche, but 5 small pieces on the plate!!!!? Don't go overboard. Incredible for a small plate. The chaufa was delicious. Unfortunately, I will not order from there. Buyer beware: If you like ceviche and the garnish that you eat with it, be mindful that you might not get what you picture in your mind. The jelly was very low quality. I sure do not recommend. The chaufa was good, but quantity vs price it doesn't match, you might as well order Chinese food."

"This restaurant may not be high-end for a date night, but it's a cozy spot where you can enjoy a delicious, home-cooked meal that will remind you of mom's cooking. I ordered the beef gyro plate and even though I was hoping for lamb, it was still flavorful. The dish was served on a bed of yellow rice, potentially saffron-infused, with pita bread that could have been improved, but wasn't terrible. I would definitely recommend this place and plan on returning in the future."

"An afternoon delight! Missed lunch during our shopping trip to Frederick, MD. With an early rush hour drive ahead, we decided on an early supper. Took our chance with what popped up nearby on Open Table we got lucky! The staff of Mariachi was welcoming, the menu diverse (Spanish and Mexican cuisines), and the portions generous. The facility appeared tired on the outside, but the interior was well maintained and relatively contemporary in its layout/decor. I ordered the seafood enchilatas and was impressed with the amounts of lobster and scallops included. All in all, we both enjoyed our meals and decided we would return on our next shopping trip to Frederick, MD."

"First off, there are no prices on the menus! That in itself is ridiculous. Second, none of the wait staff speaks English. You cannot talk to them or ask questions. Third, I point to a picture of a T-Bone steak on the menu, order that T-Bone, and get another, leather like steak. They do not call T-Bone steaks T-Bone steaks. Trying to get that resolved was like pulling teeth! Waitress was useless, extremely unfriendly, and basically MIA for the rest of the dinner. Service is horrible. My steak when I finally got it was good! They need to put prices on the menus and a waitstaff that has some command of the English language."

"I have been a patron of Cafe Azteca since they were situated in the back of Overby's Antiques. After that building burned down and they relocated, I continued to visit. Even though I moved away for 17 years, I returned for a visit as soon as I came back. The food is still amazing! While prices have increased since the early '90s, that seems to be the case everywhere. Their salsa and chips are the best I have ever tasted, and they truly serve the best Mexican food in the Jackson Metroplex. Whenever work brings me this way, I always make sure to grab takeout!"

"We sat at a large outdoor table due to my partner being on crutches and our small dog accompanying us. I informed the host of our seating choice, but no one approached us. After seeking out a waiter, we requested menus and water. Another server brought menus and mentioned returning with utensils, but only returned with water. A different waiter took our drink orders, followed by another staff member taking our food order. Surprisingly, our food arrived before our drinks and we still did not have utensils. Our drink order was also incorrect. The service was slow and the staff appeared confused at times. While the food was enjoyable, the service was a consistent issue for a restaurant that presents itself as high-end. This was the worst service we have experienced and we are uncertain if we will return."

"I visited here for a late lunch. Very friendly and fast service. The outside doesn't represent the inside so well. The inside is very nice. The starter chips were warm which I like. I had the taco salad with beef. It's difficult to review a taco salad which just has a few toppings tossed in a crispy bowl The outer shell was really good. Everything was good and the beef had a good seasoned flavor. I'll return some time and try some other items. Everything from service to food was very good."

"I went with a group for a birthday. It was the worst service any of us had ever experienced. Our waiter only took a few people's drink orders and then left for over minutes before we flagged him down to take the rest of the table's order. For food, we had to tell him we needed to order. He then took orders, walked away, and wouldn't come back. Once we got him to come back after telling several other workers we needed to finish ordering, he forgot he had taken the first few orders. He finally took a few more orders and left, once again not getting to every person at the table. Overall, it ended up taking hours and the food came out at all different times. We were all honestly very confused as to what was happening during our entire dinner."

The rice and beans were at room temperature, and the meat in the taco was cold, as if it had just come out of the refrigerator. Additionally, the meat lacked flavor. The service was poor; after waiting for 30 minutes, I had to ask for the bill again. When I finally received the bill and paid with my debit card, it took another 30 minutes for it to be returned to me. I definitely won't be returning."

"The worst experience ever. I got the wrong order, and the server started arguing with me saying I was wrong about what I ordered. I ended up saying I didn’t want the food anymore because I didn’t want to argue and 15 minutes later the server said they’re bringing out the right order. I repeated that I didn’t want the food anymore and she started arguing again. I asked for the manager and a 20 year old kid came out that didn’t even speak English and he also started arguing with me saying I was wrong. I ended up just leaving and paying for my drink that I had and they were trying to stop me from leaving. I’m willing to bet they will reply to this review and argue some more. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!"
