"I would say I am well versed in Indian food, cook it at home, eaten it my entire life, have visited India with all of that said here is my frank review of this establishment. 1. The menus are broad which is great 2. The food is less than buffet level food at best 2a. When you pay for food in the non buffet dining hours, there is an expectation the quality increases as do the prices. 3. When water is placed on the table, and it is bottled water, and the waiter and host DO NOT tell you they will charge you for it I have a problem. 4. We ordered Pani Puri, didn't match the images on the website. Was bland and no depth of flavor. Also didn't have sufficient toppings which is typical when you order this dish. 5. We ordered Samosa Chaat, a fave we order in every city we go to struggled to find the Samosa and had insufficient toppings. 6. We ordered Gobi Manchurian, the sauce was overly sweet and the dish was soggy reminiscent of precooked and microwaved style meals. 7. The mint chutney tasted watered down and bland. Like it was from a bottle and then watered down again. Highlights were the waiter, who was pleasant. Although he wasn't the guy who ran the nightclub style music (poor choice of music for a dining establishment btw) Waiter wore a mask. The Chai was good ALTHOUGH I had asked for it to NOT have any sugar. It was presweetened. Slap! There has to be better Indian Cuisine in Albany surely! Do yourself a favor and try some other great joints in town. Indian or otherwise. I know the good people of Albany can't see this as the standard for Indian Cuisine. ALSO the checker took the water off after he tried to argue with me about COVID and the need to give bottled water. This wasn't my issue, being told upon giving me the water is when I want to be told there is an associated cost. And to boot, he charged me for 4 bottles when we only had 2."

"I absolutely adore this place. My husband and I drive an hour each way just to dine here because the food is incredible. In my opinion, it's the best Indian food I've ever had. The portions are generous, and our current favorites are the butter chicken, chicken korma, and garlic naan. I plan on trying more dishes from their menu in the future. The customer service is fantastic, and the prices are very reasonable. The dining area and restrooms are always kept very clean. Parking: The restaurant is located in a strip mall with a large parking lot that has plenty of spaces available. Wheelchair Accessibility: There is a wheelchair ramp leading up to the entrance, and there is ample table seating inside that can accommodate anyone who wants to dine in. The hallway to the restrooms could be a bit tight for wheelchairs, but the bathrooms themselves are spacious enough for any sized chair."

"Excellent Indian food, reasonably priced. We had lamb samosas, pappadam, butter chicken, cheese naan and sesame naan and we loved it all. I had the butter chicken “medium” and my wife had it “mild.” The “medium” was flavorful but definitely not too spicy. We had never had cheese naan (it was stuffed with mozzarella and was similar in size and thickness to a pizza). We will go back."

""I had the pleasure of enjoying a Mango Lassi, which is a delightful mixed mango yogurt smoothie. The Cheese Naan was undoubtedly the best bread I've ever had – incredibly delicious! I also tried the Medium Chicken Tikka Masala and the Medium Chicken Coconut mixed meat appetizer. The Mixed Pakora was fantastic as well, and we finished off our meal with Gulab Jamun, a sweet dessert made of roasted cheese bread. Everything was perfectly cooked and absolutely enjoyable. I loved the rich flavors of the curry. The dishes were served family-style, making it easy to share. Our host was very polite and attentive too!""

"Very Good Pakistani Food. Hard to find a good Pakistani place to eat. Places in Little India that say so, do not step up to the plate. At Red Chili, their chicken biriyani is superb and so is their version of tandoori chicken (they have another name for it). The minced lamb kabob was also very good. Naan is reasonably priced. Nihari (has beef) was mediocre needs more flavor. The only complaint about the place, is the unpredictable service. It can get slow, due the place becoming crowded and well known. That maybe tolerable. However, it is the interaction with the staff that is bothersome. They do not seem to care and can be rude. So it depends who you get to wait on you. I like their food it is different comapred to the other similar restaurants, so I have put up with it. Having been there several times, I try to get the waiters who will not **** me off......."

"we were here twice before and recently recommended friends just to hear feedback about eating that was not good, so we wanted to try it again with friends. at the last visit the service was slow, but they are very nice. what we have noticed about most food is that it was quite dirty compared to our visit less than a year ago. they seem to be directed in many who should not happen to use the same engraving sauce floor, and most of the plant eaters were undercooked. it can change the administration or the head cook, but the taste of the food is no longer authentic in the region as it was. the stacks of papadams and seasoned at the arrival are good. the naans were tasty and well cooked, but the appetizers and disappointed us. we hope that food quality will improve. a way, but not the only way to judge a good Indian restaurant is to count the actual Indians there. we haven't seen many of these weeks, but it has only confirmed our thoughts."

"I was craving Indian food, so I decided to give this restaurant a try. I easily found street parking when I arrived. Upon entering, I was welcomed by the same man who had taken my phone order. I ordered the manchurian with gravy, opting for medium spice. They applied the discount I had and my total came out to about $13. Back at home, I dug into my meal. I appreciated the crackers and various dips they provided. The manchurian was tasty, but much spicier than I expected for medium heat. Overall, I had a positive experience at this restaurant."

"The food quality is outstanding, with every dish on the menu being delicious and well-balanced. Additionally, they offer a diverse selection of wines, Indian beers, and refreshing non-alcoholic beverages to enhance your dining experience. Shanti is a perfect spot for any occasion. For vegetarians, the menu features an entire section dedicated to vegetarian options, with an array of high-quality vegan choices available. Like much of Indian cuisine, it’s easy to have a fully vegetarian meal here, especially with the lunch specials that cater specifically to vegetarian diners. The menu is well-labeled, making it straightforward to identify vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free items, and they also list allergens. The staff is accommodating and can make reasonable adjustments for dietary needs. Kid-friendliness is a plus, as many families bring their children, encouraging an appreciation for good food from an early age. The restaurant is also wheelchair accessible, with no steps to navigate."

"If you go back in time I have a review of the Punjab from the old owners. Seeing as it's new owners with a slightly new format adding Himalayan cuisine onto the menu it's deserving of a new review. We ordered a paneer tandoori special, and lamb Rogan Josh. Both were superb, full of flavor, obviously fresh and quality ingredients. I've actually never seen cottage cheese cubes as big as they were here on this sizzling platter. The food was phenomenal I can't say that enough. As we sat down papadum, chutneys, and water were brought to our table. When we poked our head in after the new ownership took over they did not have a bar but I'm happy to say they have a full bar and canned or bottled beer. The draft lines are not running but I'm not sure they get a big drinking crowd here. My wife got a mango mojito margarita that she absolutely loved. We are excited to come back and travel the menu, It does not seem as though they have a buffet anymore but they do have lunch specials which we would definitely swing by for in the future."

"Eating and the atmosphere was great and had a wide selection of buffet options and drinks, but the servers were rude and practically non-existent, and if you find COULD they and asked for help them annoyed and tried to avoid you. Especially our server, in a loud and rude way that we tap it in cash. I went there for food not the service, but just keep it in mind they are likely to be rude, but at least they have good food though"

"My mouth rejoices every time I eat at Taj Palace. My wife and I have tried different menu items every time we’ve gone and it’s like, they just keep miracles in the kitchen, and retrieve the miracles, and we EAT the miracles. Everything is delicious. Everything. The music is perfect and we are able to converse softly but still hear each other well. The restaurant is clean and the bathrooms are well kept. The food temperature is perfect, never too hot to consume, but warms your soul straight through. They offer a variety of spice levels which is helpful. I always go medium and it’s perfect for me. My wife goes with mild and it never lacks flavor. The complementary crackers and sauces are delightful and prepared fresh daily. We can tell because the flavors vary slightly every time, which we find delightful. 5 stars is not enough!!"

"Delicious!!! We visited this restaurant for a meeting after a friend's recommendation, and we were not disappointed. The staff greeted us with warm smiles, making us feel right at home. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer served with Basmati rice, as well as butter naan and garlic naan. Everything was flavorful and excellent, and the service was impressive as well. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be returning to this restaurant."

"Very Good food and a drink server offered made with Mango and Yogurt, very refreshingly amazing.I asked for Roti, and they made me a fresh batch. Some places I’ve gone beforehand offer Naan bread rather than take the time to just give customers what they want. Having something for children would be a good idea, I like to bring my kids and they won’t eat something don’t recognize, perhaps having French Fries, Chcken Tenders, Macaroni w Cheese would be ideal for kids while teaching kids to explore new foods and cultures. This place has a good variety for Lunch Buffet which was what I had, and I give this place 5 stars!Thank you"

"orders food.. asked if the Dal comes with rice as condiment, she said she was busy and i should check internet, but then she confirmed, then asked if the curry chicken also come with rice, she mentioned only dal comes with rice, at the end, we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and Paneer MAkhani, and Nan, at the end everything came with Rice. which was too much, and quite pricy. Food is actually not authentic Indian, Tikkas, were cubes pre cooked, and not from Tandoor. we ordered spicy, still it came sweet... shall never ever order food from there again, and another thing.. what is the service charge meant for in a take away ? there was no service rendered"

"The house special biryani was outstanding, with the medium spice level being just perfect for my palate—no sweat or tears, just a delightful experience. However, the curry was less impressive; it tasted a bit diluted and lacked depth. I can't quite put my finger on it. On a positive note, the naan was hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. Bombay Grill is somewhat tucked away in an office park just a block from the main thoroughfare, but if you manage to find it, it's definitely worth a visit."
