"Hostesses at the front stand was rude seemed bothered to do their job, we were clearly interrupting their conversations. We arrived early at 5:35p asked if we could have drinks at the bar until our reservation at 6:15p. The hostesses told us they don’t take reservations, I told them I had one with Open Table, tried showing them my confirmation email, they didn’t want to look again said they don’t take reservations but could seat us if we wanted. We obviously wanted a table so we said yes I told one of the ladies that she may want to inform her manager that Open Table makes reservations for them, without any acknowledgment, she sat our menus down and walked away. Our server was amazing because of her we were able to enjoy our dinner for sure. Sushi platter was blah, you could tell it was all pre-made as the avocados were browning and the tempura was cold mushy, entrees were delicious though we had no room for dessert. Definitely overpriced, but not the servers fault at all."

"As someone who goes to hibachi quite often this experience was average to below average. You pay for what to get. We went for an early lunch and the pricing was good, however the food and experience (the show of it all) was average or less than. The fried rice was excellent, the steak and shrimp were decent, the vegetable side and noodles were disappointing. I did a noodle add on and didn’t even eat them, they were not very appetizing. The show experience was also quite mediocre. I personally wouldn’t go back but if you’re looking for decent hibachi style food with not the best performance this isn’t an awful spot just average."

"I would consider this an overpriced restaurant, with average cuisine and poor customer service Beware of take out. They did not check my order for correctness. I live 1 minutes away and I like my food hot, so I got there a few minutes earlier than they suggested. I paid and waited since they stated order was not ready. I still managed to get cold food! Also, beware of allergies also as they did not care of my complaint that the shrimp ingredient as appetizer can be easily overlooked on the menu and the order taker did not point out. Furthermore if the shrimp was an appetizer, why the h... would they dump it with the rest of the entrée. For me being allergic to shellfish, it made the whole meal inedible. I was also disappointed by the chicken fried rice and biting into small gritty shards which I later assumed were either eggshells or small shards from a broken plate. I could get over most of this, but find myself motivated and disappointed enough to write a review due to lack of concern or empathy and from the restaurant staff and management. I called back as soon as I got home to my hungry guests and discovered the issues. The call taker seemed unconcerned about the shrimp incident or my dislike for having dumped an appetizer in the same container as the entrée. the caller mentioned a manager would call me back. 2 days waiting and I received no call! I would add the photos but I think the point that i will be spending my money elsewhere next time.!"

"It was New Year’s Eve (early, though) and check in was a bit chaotic. No one was at the desk and people with earlier reservations were still waiting. There was a group of 18 waiting to be seated but they had only written down 13 and were struggling to accommodate the party. Overall, we had a nice experience and a fun chef. "Wow. Just, wow. This place used to be amazing. But we just ordered delivery and 1) were missing items, 2) had none of the sauces that came with any of the dishes, 3) were missing almost all of the seasonings that the dishes required, 4) got the most low-budget wasabi package of all time, 5) had the fishiest, grossest, chewiest and most rank-tasting fish I've ever had in my life. "Our waiter was very nice. It was very clean inside. We came for lunch and it was like $19. I love that it was not an open buffet. You sit down and they give you sheets of paper with a list of everything to choose from and you put your name on it and then the number of how many of each thing that you want. They had tons of options for the rolls as well as other items. From salad and soups to hibachi items. We decided to try a little bit of everything between me and my friend. Everything came out quickly and it was super fresh. The spring rolls and the dumplings were piping hot and delicious. Are hibachi steak was tender and there was a lot of it. The fried rice was enough for more than two people to split. And then when our roles came they were absolutely amazing. I was very shocked at the quality of how they were made. Sometimes when you go to places like that they just throw it together but these you could tell the person knew what they were doing. If we had any complaint at all it was probably how understaffed they were but they did say that they were awfully busy for some reason on that day which is completely understandable. this is a hidden gem that I hate to say but more people need to try out because it was more than worth the value. My ticket with tip was just over $25. That is insane for the amount and quality of food that we got. My three rolls that I had alone should have cost me more than that. Definitely try them out."

"Food is excellent. Sushi chef prepared it nicely as we happen to be the last customers of the night. They close at 10pm, and in Chinatown area...this happens to be the only one open late on a Tuesday evening. It was our last night in San Francisco and decided to hit up Chinatown. The place inside looked decent. Location is accessible anywhere. Towards the end of my dinner, possibly 30minutes before closing, I was rushed by the waiter to hurry up because they were closing. Mind you, my sashimi was delicious and it comes with heavy sticky white rice meaning, I can't just shove it down my throat without choking. Yet, I had to do it. I wanted to be offended, instead I knew they had a long night and wanted to go home. Plus, it was a cultural thing so I get it. But...damn. Hold on. Lemme enjoy this meal, bro."

"When I first discovered this restaurant, I was absolutely in love! The sushi was fantastic, the prices were great, and my all-time favorite was the Tom Yum soup. I couldn't stop talking about it to anyone who would listen! However, during my most recent visit, I was really disappointed with the quality. I ordered two containers to share with a friend, and I was embarrassed when we opened them. The shrimp had a suspicious odor, as if it had gone bad—both of us noticed it immediately. Since I ordered this dish frequently, I could tell right away that something was off. I didn't reach out to the restaurant to address the issue; I just ended up throwing it away. Unfortunately, I will have to find a new place for my Tom Yum soup, as I no longer trust this one. It was great while it lasted!"

"I have eaten here — always pickup take-out — roughly five times total. The first time the food was great, and then it was hit or miss. However, tonight my order was seriously gross. I ordered 3 Spider Rolls. 2 of the 3 rolls had rancid soft shell crab that had obviously gone bad. Fresh or even relatively fresh crab turns a white-ish color when cooked. Very dark crab meat has absolutely gone bad. Unfortunately for my stomach, I was sitting in the dark watching Netflix, and took a big bite. I spit it out immediately and went into the kitchen to inspect my food. That’s when I saw the bad crab meat. 2 whole rolls were bad. The kitchen should have caught this prior to frying the soft shell crab, or at very least while cutting it. Hopefully, I won’t end up sick from this experience. Regardless, I will NOT eat at this restaurant again. Call me crazy, but when I pay $43 for sushi and a tip, I actually expect the food to be fresh. Try somewhere else, because it’s a total waste of hard-earned money. Foodborne illness isn’t worth it."

No 1 Kazuko is located right across the street from my hotel the San Gabriel Hilton on Valley Blvd. I made reservations and was seated right away. There is a QR code menu but we were handed a lunch menu which we ordered from. Deluxe Chirashi 4 stars nice fresh cuts of fish but nothing special that makes it deluxe. No 2 Bento 4 stars comes with grilled mackerel, tempura, sashimi and a salmon tuna poke salad. Nigiri sushi lunch 4 stars normal cuts of fish Service was good. Parking in the rear at the Del Mar Ranch 99 shopping center. If you sit at the booths near the sushi bar there is a TV."

"Highly recommend the sweetheart roll and try it without dunking it in soy sauce at least for the first piece, it is so delicious as is. : very few sushi places in AK offer unique raw rolls with scallops, which is a nice change from the tendency to stuff spicy tuna into every single roll at most other restaurants. I wished they had chirachi (my usual go to but once I tried a couple of their special rolls I was glad I had to get rolls instead!"
