"Statesville has many really good Mexican restaurants, but we believe Mi Pueblo is the best. The outside looks like a hacienda and the inside keeps it going, with really lovely large framed paintings on the wall, faux rooftops, etc. The booths are high and comfortable. It is very clean as well. All of the employees we 've encountered have been very helpful and polite. They start you off with the ubiquitous chips salsa. They offer mild hot salsa, we usually ask for one of each. We 've tried the original guacamole, which is freshly made and chunky. Worth the higher price than the other dip version. They have a large margarita menu. I 've tried the skinny frozen one and the regular lime on the rocks. Both were delicious. My husband is very happy that they have Modelo Negro on tap (draft , since it 's one of his favorite beers. I 've been on an enchilada kick and boy does this place deliver. My favorite is the Enchiladas Ranchero which is two cheese enchiladas with your choice of pork, chicken or beef, and beans rice. The sauce on this dish is one of the most delicious things I 've ever had. The pork is fabulous, large chunks practically melt in your mouth. The chicken version is also extremely tender. Their beans and rice are also top-notch, nothing fancy, but tasty and comforting. We 've tried both the churros and the sopapillas for dessert and both were very good, served warm and freshly made. They have special deals on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with the latter being 1/2 priced enchilada day. (So worth it! There are daily drink specials on the board when you first walk inside. They are also starting to advertise Cinco de Mayo specials. Yes, the parking lot is small, but one can always park at Aldi 's behind it if it 's full. I highly recommend Mi Pueblo and encourage you to come and try it. It 's a fun place with great food."

"I was so disappointed by the changes to this new Palenque or whatever the name restaurant I thought I would offer some details. If it does not convince the owners to find a way back to the old Mezcal of themselves, perhaps my bad review will convince them when guests and revenue begin to fall. It will happen... 1 The place has NONE from the same ambience. The new ambience does not work because THERE NONE is. Combine this with a terrible floor plan and bad seating. 2 If this place is marketed as an upscale, bring me a damn menu. I asked and was told I had to scan the QR for it. I guess if I don't bring my phone, I'd have to go somewhere else. Just stupid and greedy. 3 I had to ask for chips and salsa? We had 6 people at our table and a single bowl of chips and not refilled. Yeah, I know that's a little problem, but the details, man. The details... ANNEX The food variety: I couldn't say it. I had to see it on my phone. Do you know how hard it is to take the spirit of a cook by scrolling? I really don't think it's the same offer as before. It looked like typical Mexican food. Nothing special. At least what I could say. If I had a menu... 5. The food: NOT SPECIAL more. What once Mezcal was brilliant is exactly the same stuff I can get anywhere. If you want Mexican food, you will find places closer to you than this... and... 6 It will be less expensive elsewhere. In my party, 6 peeps, 4 adults and 2 children, 2 cocktails. About $170. Why Mexican food? Not raised. Not even close. Nothing special. Bad seating. Greedy. Mezcal new restaurant, RIP:"
