"First time eating at Nijo Sushi Bar and Grill and it was nothing short than amazing! We went for Valentine’s Day. Our table was extremely sweet with a nice rose and candle. Wonderful atmosphere and our server was fantastic! Some of the best sushi we’ve ever had. One of the rolls we got was from the valentines menus with the scallops and seaweed salad and it was literally the best roll ever! I would highly recommend Nijo!"

"To avoid writing an essay in this review: I'm going to start by saying this is the best restaurant when it comes to sushi in the valley. I have not found a single restaurant that even competes. Sekai has an amazing range of items to order from, each presented in a simplistic yet refined way. Beyond the exceptional quality, the price points for the menu items are more than fair; I can come in on a lunch break, eat, and be out without any wait and for the effort and passion put into the dishes, I hardly feel like I'm paying enough! Swing by here for a most memorable meal, and to support one of the best establishments in the valley."

"I really enjoyed my lunch here last Friday. I was waiting for my car to be repaired and just happened to walk by. The spider roll was excellent, and I ordered a second California roll to satisfy my hunger. However, I felt the price was a bit high for what I received, although the quality was good. I haven't had a decent California roll in quite a while!"

"Honestly I don?t know why this place has a 3.7 star standing right now. I mean everything was amazing service, ambiance, the price and most important, the taste! My family and I are quite picky eaters so I do a lot of research and read reviews before I choose a location. Yesterday was just of those chances I took based on pictures and we do not regret going. We had an amazing time just walking around the building and having dinner at 12 moons. Here?s what we ordered. picked cucumber salad firecracker shrimp (spicy one) lemongrass chicken wings 12 moons fried rice (small portion) beef mongolian (small portion) chow mein (small portion) triple layer cake mochi *the small portions are fairly large so it was plenty for us. We were three people. Also the taro chips they bring as a complimentary starter were amazing. Tasted very fresh and the flavour was very unique! Hope you all enjoy as much as we did!"

"The sushi is by far the best in the East Bay. Most importantly I trust the freshness of all the fish. Over several years we have ordered almost every sushi roll on the menu. I have loved each. One of my favorites is Dragon roll and theirs is the best I have had. I have ordered take out and it is just as good as eating in. All the vegetables used are fresh and the broccoli tempura gives broccoli a good name. All the tempura vegetables are fresh. My husband loves the bento box too. The staff people are kind, efficient and attentive. The bill may be a little high but the end product makes it reasonable. The bottom line is freshness and care. Blue Ginko, Lafayette does the very their very best."

"I ordered some nigiri and a tuna roll from this place last night. The DoorDash delivery was great. Right to my door in under 20 mins. The food was another matter. I order sushi on a regular basis from other restaurants that offer great quality. This was not it. I ordered 2 pieces of maguro nigiri and one tuna on tuna with avocado roll. What I received was poor quality toro (fatty) tuna. Thick pieces it on both the nigiri and the roll. This was near closing time, so I can only guess that they gave me whatever cuts they had left at the end of the day. I tried one piece of the roll, but it was so disgusting I threw everything away. I paid over $40 for a dinner I had to dispose of because it made me want to gag. I will never order from here again."

"service was very good and ambiente very nice. very spacious seating and minimal interruption from the personal. the food presentation is great. the taste of eating is variable. scallop sashimi was very good and other sashimi is good. unagi is good, ochsenzunge is much too salty and spicy (says a little sharp on the menu,) auberginen very oily. no raven on the menu. not expensive considering the ambient, but not cheap. $150 for 2 adults and 1 child. could have gone to a steak place to eat better quality. I'm glad we tried!"

"We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant. The food was incredibly flavorful and prepared authentically, without any American modifications. We ordered the Jumbo Ebi Shumai, Chicken Bao, Chicken Katsu Ramen, and Tonkotsu Ramen, and each dish was exceptional. For drinks, we tried the matcha mule and the Kuso. The matcha mule was delightful, while the Kuso lacked some flavor. However, when we brought this to our waitress's attention, she promptly offered to enhance it by adding an ingredient, and it turned out great afterward. The service was excellent, and our waitress was very friendly. Overall, we give the food, drinks, and service a solid 5 stars!"

"I ordered the biltong, Korean BBQ wings, soup dumplings, crème brûlée, and some hot green tea. The biltong was absolutely delicious, and the Korean BBQ wings were tasty as well, though a bit dry. A quick fix for that is to pour some water over them and let them sit for a bit, which helps to soften them. The soup dumplings met my expectations perfectly. I really liked the design of the cup for my hot green tea as well. For dessert, I chose the crème brûlée, and it was delightful! It wasn't overly sweet, which I appreciated. I ended up ordering quite a bit, and my total was just $50, which I thought was a great price. I parked at the 24-hour CVS nearby, which was also quite full, suggesting it's a popular spot. Overall, it seems like the menu has changed for the better, and I can definitely see myself returning. Additionally, the music was at a pleasant volume, another plus in my book."
