"I walked into the restaurant and found just one empty table in the dining room. At 6:40, the hostess seated me. By 6:44, my waitress, Mallory, took my order for a Diet Coke, a small salad, and 10 extra crispy wings with medium sauce. My drink arrived at 6:46, and at 6:48, the salad came out. It was a typical large side salad with fresh, crisp iceberg lettuce, unremarkable hothouse tomatoes, a decent blue cheese dressing, crunchy croutons, and a few black olives.
My wings arrived at 7:06, exactly as I ordered them—crispy! However, I was disappointed to learn that celery and carrots cost an extra 75 cents (boo!). That said, I did receive eight generous pieces of each veggie. The wings were medium-sized, with mild to medium heat, and tasted fresh. They had a thin sauce with a moderate butter flavor similar to Anchor Bar's.
At 7:25, Mallory checked in to see how everything was going. She was very pleasant and took away my empty plates. The check arrived at 7:27, and she took my payment shortly after. My change was back in my hands by 7:31.
On a scale of 0 to 10, I’d rate the service a 9. I might have gotten lucky with Mallory, but all around the dining room I saw smiling faces. Given its location, this restaurant seems to draw a diverse crowd of shoppers, out-of-towners staying at nearby hotels, and foreign tourists.
When it comes to wings, I’d rate them a solid 7. On the same scale, with 0 being the current offerings at Anchor Bar, which I don't enjoy, and 9 representing places like Elmo's or Buffalo Tap Room, Buzzy's wings have earned their spot. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and I over-tipped Mallory $4.50 on a $17.50 check because she truly is a professional and worth every penny.
I would certainly return to Buzzy's if I'm in the area, though I probably won’t make a special trip just for it."
