Silly me, I thought that would be a straightforward process. Spoiler alert: it wasn’t. After fighting with their broken online system, I decided to give them a call. You know, like people used to do in the dark ages before the internet. I was on hold for a while, but hey, I figured they were busy whipping up some delicious food. How naive of me. When I finally got through to the host, I explained my situation, expecting at least a smidge of empathy or, I don’t know, a willingness to help. Instead, I was hit with a line that’s going to be etched in my memory forever: The kitchen said no. This was after they asked, how many things are you going to order? Really? No. Just... no. No explanation, no apology, no attempt to even pretend like they cared. Apparently, asking to place an order over the phone was too much for them to handle. I mean, how dare I want to give them money in exchange for food? The nerve! Look, I’ve dealt with bad service before, but this was a whole new level of ridiculous. The fact that they couldn’t even be bothered to take an order says everything you need to know about this place. Customer service? What’s that? The people running this joint clearly have no clue. Honestly, I’m relieved I didn’t actually get to try their food. If their service is this bad, I can only imagine what the kitchen is like. Maybe the kitchen didn’t say no —maybe it was trying to warn me. In any case, I’ve taken the hint. I won’t be bothering Kill Devil Grill with my pesky orders again. If you value your time, money, or basic human decency, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place."
