"Big Mike's Steakhouse in Andalusia, Alabama A Culinary Delight I now understand why the locals rave about Big Mike's Steakhouse in Andalusia, Alabama. After trying other restaurants in town, I see what makes this is a local gem that offers a solid dining experience. We indulged in a variety of dishes, each showcasing the quality and care that Big Mike’s is known for. While the steak wasn’t cooked to the temp ordered, it was tender, and flavorful. The pork loin chops were more impressive, juicy and well seasoned, making for a hearty and satisfying dish. The crabcakes were not anything special. The queso dip was creamy and rich, tweaked to the liking of our bartender suggestion. Good call. It made a solid starter that set the tone for the meal. When it came to desserts, Big Mike's truly shined. The carrot cake was dense, with just the right amount of sweetness and a delicate balance of flavors, not overly nutty, making it a delightful treat. The salted caramel cheesecake was indulgent, with a smooth texture and a perfect blend of sweet and salty. However, the star of the evening was the bread pudding. It stole the show with its warm, comforting flavors and a texture that was simply divine. If you’re dining at Big Mike’s, make sure to save room for this dessert – it’s an absolute must try. Overall, Big Mike’s offers a well rounded dining experience with dishes that are as satisfying as they are memorable. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is one spot in Andalusia that shouldn’t be missed. Parking: Private lot, and street parking"

"This is such a sensational throwback diner/malt shop...we love stopping in. The decor/vibe is really on point...along with the classic tunes playing on the [modern day jukebox. They have ample seating...including a few extra large circular booths. In the warmer months...there is also plenty of patio seating outdoors. The menu has varied options of burgers/sandwiches...side options such as fries...or...onion rings/etc...salads...and of course: ice cream specialties. They even have old school phosphates/ice cream sodas/etc. Everything on the menu is ala carte. The regular size order of any side is more than enough to feed two to three people. The family size will easily feed about five. The prices are very fair considering the portion sizes. A half sized shake/malt is still much more than one malt glass full you get the extra in the tin...and...the list of flavors is quite extensive. The butterscotch one is my fave fave. You always leave there full. The food has always been very delicious...cooked as it should be for the type of restaurant it is...kinda greasy but...full of flavor. [Don't worry...there's plenty of napkins on the table. Haha! The service is quick...and...friendly. The staff is all really efficient. They keep the soda refills coming...and...check back frequently. This is one of our neighborhood go to spots...we'll always return...and...recommend."
