"I’m not sure what the low reviews are on? This place is seriously a gem, from the cute handmade artwork done by the people who work here for their ads and flyers, to the quality of the baked goods and the people who work here everything IS FIVE STARS! The pistachio croissant is to die for. The chess pie is amazing, the seasonal stuff is always so good. Anything I’ve tried even if it’s flavors I normally don’t go for has been delicious. "Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most restaurants to be overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we walked in - that's a huge plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She noted that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as advertised and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"My friend and I went to a show here for the Anachronicals. It was a great set and lovely atmosphere. Their music really suited the small cozy atmosphere will. It was a great turnout as well. The food was decent. I had come here before for lunch and my friend had gotten the fish and chips and they were nice, hot and crispy. I ordered the fish and chips this night and two were stale, one was good. So, I kind of cut my losses with that... We also got the mark Portugal sandwich that wasn't as good as we thought it would be, especially being one of their signature dishes. For it to be an open face sandwich, it didn't have enough going on to be considered an open face sandwich IMO.. It was like a subway sandwich, that you could fold, and still eat without a mess. Vegetables or something on top would have been a welcome sight. We also got the guv'nors mousse . Unless you're a super chocolate lover, I wouldn't order this, as it is a bitter chocolate.. My friend wanted it more so than I did, so that's what we got. The little chocolate sticks that come in it, were perfection! ?I would have preferred the boozy cake or the chocolate chip cookie pizza with ice cream. They were out of the cider that my friend wanted to order as well, so that was a bit of a disappointment! But he settled for a Guinness and enjoyed it. He said that it was a perfect pour! I know nothing about the pour of a beer, but apparently this one took the cake! So, if you're looking for a bartender with a perfect pour, they have one!"

"the first time you try this loose angeles institution. I think they've been here for 40-50 years, and after the attempt I can see why. I had a quarter of pfund burger with scabbards and wobble my wife had the pastrami and we ordered a large wobble rings to share. I think this series of tweeper rings would feed 4-5 people. they are absolutely amazing. the burger was juicy with great taste. the pastrami was at least one pfu beef with the bungalow soaked in delicious juice. neither of us were able to finish our sandwiches and had wobbles left for a late evening snack. if they want a great burger, don't hesitate to go upstairs. I really enjoyed the new experience."

"Before we talk to food, call us to our server, Ireland. Although she was busy and also worked for lunch, she was very attentive and so inviting. I have to fall from another table in a conversation. Your server told them he was at Cotton Patch before he was born. When his mother was pregnant, she worked here! So cool. Some of the best Queso ever. I know this is a bold statement, but this brisket queso is uprightly negligent! Our entrees were also a solid high-scoring hit. We had the chicken roast and chicken steak. As a comment, I said my better half of the green beans so good they tasted when they came from the family association. For dessert, I couldn't resist the mama's cake – yellow cake and cheesecake comb. It is definitely rich (no surprise), but it was delicious. If you go through or just need something else, this chain will not be disappointed."

"Waitress was super nice and cutely dressed, but that don't get you a big tip from me...holy wow this girl could NOT do anything right... poor thing, she asked what we wanted, we told her our drinks and when she came back,she asked if we wanted appetizersand we ordered that... then she said I'll be right back. We picked what we wanted and closed or menu... and waited and waitedand waited... I'll be right back kinda means one or two minutes or even seeing or menus closed... but 27 minutes? Really?...when she finally came back she took our order and we played the waiting game again... I can understand if the restaurant is fullit will take a bit... but there was just a few tables occupied... 35 minutes later my man gets up because he thought he sawthem put his plate at the pick up window, then he heard them laughing and joking around in the back area. Yup, it was his plate,and it was just sitting up for 14 mins ... we asked for the manager and she was just as useless as or waiter... Don't even worryabout it she says... we didn't get our meal and they didn't get paid for the little they fed us... super disappointed"

"Buzzard Billy's came recommended by the bartender at Pearl Street Brewery just up the road and boy did she know what she was talking about! From the time we walked in the door to the time we walked back out the door, the experience was top notch! Service was genuine, friendly and welcoming and the food was out of this world delicious!! Hubby had the Cajun Combo with the addition of dirty rice and he was blown away by all the flavors and portions! We've been to Louisiana and didn't have food this good, these folks totally know what they're doing! I had the Ca C'est Bon (Saw-Say-Bon) and I swear it was the best meal I've ever had in my life! The Cajun catfish is phenomenal and the sauce that the fried potatoes soak in is worthy of awards! The bread is a slice of heaven, all buttery and crunchy, fresh and soft but that corn... wow... what's with that corn... so good!! There are two other locations of Buzzard Billy's, both on our travel map journey if we're ever in the area. I sure hope we get back to this location some day because I will forever crave this meal!"

"June 2021! I had the chicken spaghetti and butter cake and it was delicious, I just wish the chicken spaghetti had more cheese and seasonings but overall for it to come from a restaurant it was good! It was my first time here and won't be my last, I'm in love with this place and can't wait to try different things on the menu. I forgot to take a pic of the spaghetti ?? but I did take one of the butter cake and as u can see in the pic, it speaks for itself. And it's whip cream and caramel sauce on top, yum? I had got it to go so that's why it's in the container. All in all I'm one satisfied customer? Update March 2022! I just had chicken fried brisket with cream gravy and dr.pepper sauce and it was the bomb! This place never disappoints me, and yes I said brisket and not chicken it's new on their menu, and as y'all can see I had southern green beans and mac and cheese and corn(not pictured) as my sides. I also got the new Texas Hummingbird Cake and let me just tell y'all go try it for yourselves because oh my goodness you won't be disappointed!"

"I am not from here, currently staying in town for the weekend due to the Spartan race in Granbury. I knew I'd be hanging at the hotel all day without a vehicle and needed some food for my child and I. I ordered from here through DoorDash. When I got my order I was missing some items. I called the restaurant to let them know as well as mentioned that I'm without transportation and wouldn't be able to pick them up . The manager was so kind, he offered extra items on top of the ones I'm missing, and drove them over here and hand delivered them himself! Excellent service, amazing food! That veggie soup was so delicious! We loved everything. Thank you!!"

"coney mckanes had only one of the WORST eating experiences I had lately. wife and I had decided to get out of the house and get the young to dinner. we went into the inner city to coney mckanes and it is sure to say that we will never come back. -not my wife order and my own were the wrong objects - forget the order of our sohnes completely -very rude server ... not sure whether he embarrassed about the chaos on the command and then just doubled-down to make sure that it would be a bad experience for us or maybe he was just a bad day "

"Friendly but clueless service. Our waitress was nice but not very smart in terms of process. A couple examples to factor for yourself: After waiting ten minutes for our water and sodas, she shows up at our table tells me she accidentally gave my water away. No big deal, except she didn?t go get it then. We watched her get two more trays of drinks, delivery them to other tables, take multiple orders and finally bring me my water another 10 12 minutes later. We ordered our food along with sides like salad that should have come earlier than the food. We inquired if we could have our salad and soups before the food, she said yes. She then brought my wife her salad and soup but not mine. I asked for my soup to which she told me mine had already been served and was in my plate so she didn?t bring it, of course, that means part of my dinner was sitting on a pass getting cold along with my soup. Our dinner finally came. My soup was cold and congealed. I had asked for no cheese on top of the bake potato soup given cheese dislike. She never mentioned although I can blame the menu too that unlike the menu the soup was not cream but cheese based as well. I would not have ordered it. I had to snare her five minutes later when she finally came by to ask for a spoon. She seemed annoyed with with request, but really, should I use the fork for soup. I never got my other side ordered and included with my meal. She came back to ask if we needed condiments or things after we had had our food for fifteen minutes. Not so useful. Because things were so slow, we finished up and went with the kids to target while the wife settled the check. The waitress arrived, realized she brought her the wrong check, crushed it up. Did she bring the correct one right back? Of course not. My wife said she watched her run off, go clean two other tables, make passes to some other tables then only when my wife was able to snare her to request, again, the proper check as she had obviously immediately forgot about getting it. We were not demanding and of the no worries category, but all the waiting, the non sensible delivery of items, watching the waitress not solve her mistakes and focusing on other lower priority items, cold congealed food and missing items add up to a terrible experience, After previous good experience, I rate this one a total bummer. Someone in management needs to ensure that staff and I understand they are hard to find are properly trained as it?s cleAr that common sense isn?t Automatic. P.s. avoid the Steiner bock fish and chips. They have like two gallons of undercooked batter on them. I love fish and chips, these were terrible. I ate one of three pieces and didn?t take he rest home for the dogs"

"My girlfriend and I decided to try a new place for brunch but unfortunately this was a very disappointing experience. I drove 52 mins (both ways) and was super excited to try this restaurant today. First, It took way too long for anyone to even take our drink orders and after we had ordered the waitress returned stating that they had ran out of grits. My girlfriend only eats seafood and sides so she ordered eggs and grits. This really upset her because there weren’t many options for a pescatarian. She wanted to leave so I got my food to go. I ordered the Hot honey chicken and waffles and this is what I received. This looks NOTHING like what is advertise on social media. I cannot believe that I paid $15 plus tax for this and after driving almost a hour. Will not be returning."

"My husband and I shared the three-meat platter. The ribs were tasty, but they were meant to be served without sauce and came coated instead. The brisket was quite fatty, so if you're a fan of that, you'll enjoy it; otherwise, you might want to skip it. The pulled chicken was on the dry side. We also had to wait about 10 minutes for our additional sauces for the chicken and brisket. The mac and cheese was good, but the collard greens were overly seasoned. Overall, the food was decent, but nothing made us eager to return. The location and atmosphere were great, and the outdoor seating was a nice touch."

"The food was great. My waitress Tierany was great. Not my personal experience but my observation of the service from another waitress to a lady who had 6 young grandchildren with her was absolutely unacceptable. The girl's boyfriend was sitting a couple of boots in front of me and she spent 99% of the time that I was there engaged with him. She was the one serving the grandmother with the grandchildren and when a glass of water was spilled by the grandmother other the waitress did not help to clean it up. She did go back to the back and get some additional napkins, nautical and not enough napkins enough napkins and she just laid him on the table and walked back over to her boyfriend and left the grandmother to fend for herself. I was absolutely appalled. I do have the name of that waitress and if the store's manager would like to contact me I'd be happy to share it with him. So if you go to cotton patch, expect good food and expect really great service if you ask for Tierany."

"I have to tell you that todays order, was the perfect! My bagels were actually warm upon delivery. I have to say that todays bagels were the best. Literally that Ive ever had in my life. The everything bagel was so well seasoned and warm and chewy. The lox cream cheese spread best Ive ever had. Not dense and heavy but light and wicked. Now, the whitefish salad, again the best Ive ever had. Equivalent to a jumbo lump crab cake with no filler. Amazing, fresh and delicious. My iced latte, again a hit! Now, the pizza bagel, again amazing. The only thing I could say is not a lot of sauce and not much cheese. But quality great taste delicious."
