"EMIE'S RESTAURANT is a busy eatery that is well-known for it's breakfast menu. We went in the evening to try their Mediterranean vegan/conventional menu. Emle's food is light, not oily, salty, or saucy. Our server, Omer, did an excellent job explaining each dish. As an appetizer, we ordered the breaded and fried portobello mushrooms. It was served with a lovely garlic sauce. All four of us enjoy this vegan specialty. I found the vegan vegetable plate to be ample and satisfying. The house-made pita, served with the plate, is delicious. The other guests also enjoyed their meals, however, one guest found the lobster risotto too rich. One caution: the bread dip cantains cheese and is therefore not vegan. There where no vegan desserts on the menu. Covid masks are required for entry. UPDATE: Sam, the new owner, has polished the menu. Not a lot was changed. There's a new chef. Our meals tasted a smidgen better. Sam stopped at our table to make sure everything was fine. It was. We have returned several times since this review was first published. Emie's new chef and Sam have never disappointed. Both patio and restaurant seating are available. Emle's is near California State University. Students and faculty with ID cards, are offered a discount. On Sunday, Monday, and Thursday alcohol drinks are half price. Parking, including wheelchair parking, is free and easy. Everything else, including the neutral-gender bathroom, is wheelchair accessible."

"The service is quick and polite here at Huckleberry Square. I have seen this place many times as I drove through burien and have even passed it up for another place down the road from it, that I found out no longer exists. Well, what a gem of a place, nothing beats a good restaurant with a consistent menu. Food was reasonably priced for a very nice portion. All the food was well seasoned and salted, eggs were cooked perfectly. The crowd seemed a bit on the older side, maybe it's the day/time and mostly white, which I thought was a bit strange as Burien has a pretty diverse community. Then again I lived in the area for a while and never went so, maybe we need to get the word out to the brown community. I feel like I'm the one that missed out. If you are looking for American faire, that is done fresh and correct, this is the spot. If I or someone I know has a craving for American food, I will not hesitate to suggest Huckleberry Square. I need to come back and experience dinner, because I was also under the misconception that it was just a breakfast place. And it's not, they have sandwiches, burgers, and I watched their fried chicken go past with a server to another table and it looked delicious. I've also seen images of prime rib, and I know they also do steaks. I would say they are a no frills, fresh ingredients turned into high quality diner food. Nostalgic, cozy surroundings, and in old school diner fashion they even sell a bunch of Huckleberry themed items. Which I'm sure are also, of reliable quality. Great experience and tasty food."

"My BFAM* Steve offered to take us to breakfast this morning at a place that makes the best biscuits gravy that he 'd ever eaten at a restaurant. There 's no possible way one can pass up something after an introduction like THAT! So we loaded up the car and we moved to Beverly...Hills that is... No wait, he took us to Banana River Cafe in Satellite Beach. And let me tell you, he wasn 't lying. First of all, let me state that I agree 100%. No part of this was ever found in some prepackaged mix where they just added hot water. No. There is an abundance of sausage cooked into the gravy and to say that they spoon it liberally o er a fresh baked biscuit is an understatement of the highest order. Secondly, let me admit that I messed up and ordered the eggs (2) and the turkey sausage, which is freshly ground and mixed on site. Why did I mess up? Well it 's because of just how much of the biscuits and gravy you get! The eggs were scrambled and were light and fluffy and incredibly tasty. The sausage was moist and subtly spiced, but unfortunately, I could not eat everything. I was stuffed to the gills! Did I mention that I ordered a sweet tea to drink and the dude didn 't even bat an eye? When I verified wait, you guys have sweet iced tea?!? He replied, Absolutely. That on its own is nearly worthy of 5 stars. But combined with the excellent food quality, top of the line service, AND the real brewed sweet tea, this place cranks everything straight to 11. Unfortunately, I can only give 5 stars. Rest well knowing they earned them! tl;dr: Banana River Cafe, the Spinal Tap of breakfast cafes!"
