"Three of us enjoyed the royal breakfast, which included pancakes and scrambled eggs, as well as the royal wrap made with spinach, and fried tilapia served with hash browns. We were all thoroughly impressed with each dish! The food was simple yet perfectly prepared, far surpassing the restaurant's unassuming exterior and interior. Additionally, our server was not only funny and sassy but also provided excellent service, even replacing my sweet tea without me having to ask."

"Reservation didn’t even matter. We still had to wait 45 for a seat at the bar. There weee other groups waiting at the door who also had reservations and had to wait. Hostess didn’t even ask any names on reservations. Just asked “do you have a reservation?” Lots of empty tables that hadn’t been cleaned sooooo why such a wait time? Bartender was extremely rude. She literally cursed at us under breath for asking for the counter to be wiped off bc it was super sticky. After one drink she said “oh we ran out of limes” but our food came with limes so make it make sense. Food was cold. Music was too loud. Just a horrible experience all around. Management was no where to be found."

"This is our new local BYOB favorite. We have been twice now. The staff is very warm and friendly and the food is excellent. If you like well prepared food and are willing to pay for very interesting tasting beautifully plated food then this is a great place. We went twice and both times they were great even with diet restrictions. It's charming, casual enough to walk in (if you can get in!), But also a great place to visit friends and relatives, or to have a special evening or date. The Wayne area needed a place like this. We will come back in any case."

"This restaurant has deli style sandwiches, soups, salads, pizzas, chips, fruits, and deserts. On this visit, I chose a pick 2 option. I ate half a turkey sandwich and a chicken tortilla soup. The turkey tasted as if it was carved from a Thanksgiving dinner and the cheese was melted on it which added to it's delicious taste. It included avocado and tomato. The soup was the best part though. It was hot, and had a subtle spiciness to it. Very well cooked. I would recommend the soup highly. As a bonus, I had a slice of my son's pizza (don't worry, he was full and it was crispy, had a great tasting mozzarella, and the sauce and pepperoni was very flavorful."

"My companion and I had a new experience at this restaurant, and it was quite enjoyable. The atmosphere was perfect for a quick lunch, and the service was friendly. Our food arrived quickly—hot pizza and a chilled salad. I particularly appreciated the round table that had extra condiments, napkins, and salt and pepper grinders readily available. It's an excellent spot for take-out or dining in. I recommend it for lunch, a quick bite, or for a soup, salad, and sandwich at any time. The desserts looked amazing and were advertised as homemade. I highly recommend this place, and I don’t often say that!"

"We reserved a table for 5 at 6:00pm on a Saturday. It wasn’t busy at all, so we assumed we’d get our food quickly. Not the case. Our waitress was friendly but when we asked a question about the menu (not an allergy issue) it took her approx. 10 minutes to come back with an answer. She took our drink and food order at the same time. It took around 10 minutes to get 3 sodas, no alcohol was ordered. We waited well over 30 minutes for our food, if not closer to 40 45 minutes. Another table of 5 came in at least 20 minutes after us, and got their food before us, though they had a different waitress. When we got our food, we didn’t see the waitress again for at least 15 minutes if we needed anything else. Onto the food...1 got the Mac cheese with waffle fries, 1 got the Mac cheese with onion rings and 1 got chicken fingers and fries they all liked those meals. 1 got the strawberry goat cheese salad as a wrap with French fries. The wrap was good but there was too much dressing on it and the menu said there’d be grilled chicken in it but there was not. The last meal was a burger with vegetables. The burger was good but the vegetables tasted like grilled dirt. For 5 meal and 3 sodas (plus 5 waters) our total came to $83. Not worth the price for some average to awful tasting food. If the place was busy I could understand the long wait once we ordered, but it wasn’t busy. In the main seating area (not in the bar), There was only 4 tables occupied and the separate bar area wasn’t busy either. Very disappointing, especially for the price. We will not be back."

"The chicken and waffles are a must eat and this is my first time ever having chicken and waffles in my life. I didn't even eat it with the syrup brought out that's how good it was. My daughter loved the strawberry cupcakes with homemade icing .The chicken tenders 3/10 fry's 6/10 Cakes 10/10! Drinks included mozzarella sticks also 10/10 very filling. P.S. check the artwork on my post from the Ladies' bathroom and from the stage upfront. Check this little spot out. The new chef is a real working lil lady and spot on chef ??. Kudos to her hard work. Her customer service was way fly!!!"

"Our monthly girls’ brunch led us to this fantastic spot, and what a memorable first visit it was! Our server, George, made the experience truly special with his perfect food suggestions. Every dish we sampled was delicious—the cheeseburger stood out, especially with the spicy pickle adding a great punch. The truffle fries were good, though I’m not a fan of shoestring fries, but the seasoning was tasty. The avocado appetizer was excellent, just needed a tiny pinch of salt. My friend loved the berry pancakes too. I highly recommend trying the Stone Fruit and Espresso martinis—I couldn’t resist ordering both, and they did not disappoint! Trust me, you won’t regret the CHOCOLATE SILK PIE; it was heavenly. Reservations are a smart idea, and the service was fantastic from arrival to departure. Definitely check this place out! Plus, we got to enjoy a lovely birthday celebration happening at the next table!"

"This place was trash!!! Went because thought it might be good. They say they were open but the front door was locked and we had to walk around to the patio. There were flies everywhere from not cleaning the soda guns. It took 45mins to get a couple doubleburgers. Oh wait?there was only one patty. I asked for a couple sides of sauces. The bartender went to the kitchen came backwith on and told me I couldn?t find any Mayo. It?s a kitchen!!!! The bun was stale. I asked for no tomato and there were twothick slices on there. The first were over salted. The beer was ok, I mean?it was a beer. I let the manager know it was theworst food ever and all I got was an ?ok sorry? I asked for my bill and it was only $7 I signed the receipt and left. Now mycredit card is showing a $20 charge. I didn?t leave a tip. I paid what I was charged. Expect some issues if I am charged $20 forthe worst experience ever!! Don?t go here even on their best day. I imagine that to be probably the quality of McDonald?s atthat point."

"There were several issues with my online order. The gentleman with the round glasses behind the bar and the younger guy who made our drinks were phenomenal. They are why I am giving 5 stars. The shorter blonde lady that made us feel like issues on their end of online ordering was our fault, and elected to tell us what we should or should not have been able to do online was AWFUL. Even though we didn't get what we ordered, the trip and customer service was amazing, except hers was terrible. Kudos to those two men, and whoever hired then. If we had to deal with just that woman we would have asked for a refund and never returned. We are used to the downtown spot, but this location is absolutely stunning"

"This gem has what I would call a polished vintage vibe . A comfy local feel but tastefully snazzy at the same time. The food is divine. Familiar items but layers of satisfying flavor within. The kitchen is putting care and detail in their work. Happy hour appeared to have been very busy for them, so I was glad we ate a bit later. We sat comfortably at the bar and were greeted warmly by multiple staff members. We started with some French onion soup, and it was very rich and a little bit sweet. My friend ordered a smoked barrel aged Old Fashioned... with the indulgent addition of a cloud of smoke under its glass lid. Very smooth sweet with a terrific combo of aromas. We moved on to the Caprese Burger with crispy wedge fries. Again, deep flavor! Then the Alabama Slamma chicken sandwich, which was perfect with a hint of citrus in its sauce. I think any and all sauces/condiments throughout the menu really help items stand out. One of the servers has been brewing his own hot sauces for this place and he brought them out for us to play with. All 3 were unique and multi layered. It was a great hang, and we 'll be back!"

"The first time I came here was with a few friends as our wives had a ladies night. None of us had been here and it was a Wednesday night and it was busy. So we sat at the bar and got some drinks. While waiting for a couple guys to arrive we ordered some appetizers. We asked the bartender for her recommendations and she suggested either the fried pickles or the Italian beef egg rolls. My buddy said he hates fried pickles (and pickles in general heathen! and he was not interested in the egg rolls. So he got cheese curds and we got the egg rolls. Holy cow! The Italian Beef Egg Rolls were awesome. Even my buddy was pleasantly surprised. Next we got dinner. I got the Pretzel Prime Rib Dip Sandwich. Juicy, flavorful, crisp bun, aioli with a slight kick...all hallmarks of a very good sandwich...which it was. My buddy (who doesn't like pickles the heathen! got a burger which he said was one of the best burgers he's ever had and that our Burger Club will have to revisit just for everyone to review. Another got the Buffalo Salad and another got the Ale House Fish Chips. We all loved our food and vowed to return. And return we did! We went back a second time and got the Italian Beef Egg Rolls again (because awesome and also got their wings: BBQ and Hot Honey. Both are good sauces and worth the trip to Emerson just for them. Our Burger Club has been as well and we rank their burgers as some of the best we've had and we've been to over 30 places all over the North Shore, Northwest Suburbs up to Kenosha, WI. I highly recommend visiting Emerson Ale House and trying whatever they recommend (or what I recommended as everything is great ther. Oh, and I have tried the fried pickles and they are really, really, good."

"Got the fried chicken sandwich, which was pretty good. Service was very friendly too. One week later, different service lady, and she flat out denied that fried chicken was even a menu option. I pointed it out on the printed menu taped to their counter, and she still claimed it isn't being served here. Ordered another sandwich, roast beef. The difference in quality was astonishing, and not in the good way. Ordered a fried chicken tenders sandwich later on, it was a soggy mess. I'm sorry I don't usually like giving out negative reviews, but I would recommend subway over this place with how things are going."

The first time, I received someone else's meal and they were unable to provide me with the correct order. The second time, I got the right kind of burger, but it came with chicken instead of beef. I really hope they can fix these problems because the food is genuinely delicious."
