"What happened to this restaurant? I spent $30 and left without eating. I asked the cashier if they had anything vegan and she only mentioned pie. I decided to go with the avocado toast. While waiting, I saw staff coming out of the kitchen with a bottle of Just Egg (a vegan egg substitute). The avocado toast eventually arrived, but it was served on a long, hard to cut piece of sourdough bread with very little avocado, mostly just sprouts. This experience felt like a disappointment and I questioned if I was dining at Urth Cafe. I returned the dish but the second version came on an equally difficult to cut, 2.5-inch tall baguette with very little avocado. After attempting to take a bite, I decided to return it once again and left. This was by far the worst avocado toast I have ever had in LA. I suggest going to The Fountain or Jon n Vinny's nearby for a better experience where the avocado is generously piled high on delicious bread. I also recommend the kitchen staff to visit those places to see how it's supposed to be done."

"The coffee shop is great, but the wait time and service are terrible. We had to wait 30 minutes to order two lattes and another 30 minutes sitting on very uncomfortable seats for our order to arrive. When I expressed my concern to the employee delivering the order, he simply said that the restaurant was busy. I told him that was not an acceptable response, but he repeated the same answer as he walked away. I observed their service closely and noticed there was no sense of urgency in serving customers. This is why we only go there once every couple of months. This issue could easily be resolved by having faster staff and more registers taking orders."

"The deliverer Michael was very quick to get food my delivered while still warm. The food arrived nicely packaged, but just a smaller portion of lasagna than usual (when I go inside to pickup food myself . There was a slightly larger size of baguette provided however. Cant complain about time much bc the food is so tasty, though itd be nice to speed up the process from the kitchen to deliverer: it took over an hour from order to delivery which I didnt mind much because I planned ahead. Last time I ordered from this particular cafe location the deliverer didnt deliver my food, but checked off that he had (he never came by in fact , so I guess Im thankful to have had someone honest this time around. I tipped him additionally once he arrived. The Granny Smith apple pie is always a house fav Thoroughly devoured... and enjoyed :"

"Pizza Huevos Rancheros was the only vegan option served for brunch. It was good. Delicious actually, although it was pricey 16). It was also a good serving size that might feed two people if you really stretch it. The eggs in the original pizza were substituted for vegan eggs, likely made from something like “Just Egg”. I went to the Urth Caffe in Hawthorne (which I can’t find on Happy Cow)."

"A couple nights ago, after a bad day, I ordered my favorite dessert. Their tiramisu. Unfortunately the matcha flavor was delivered and I cannot eat that.. DoorDash gave me DoorDash credit which was great, and I gave my neighbor the Matcha tiramisu. About a half an hour ago I opened up the door to get an Amazon package and to my delight there was my new tiramisu on the stoop! Original flavor! It was such a surprise that they replaced it a couple days later, and also gave me credit. I was very pleased. Thank you DoorDash and Urth Italia Tiramisú (individual) café! I am a tiramisu connoisseur and this is some of the best in my Tustin/ Irvine area."

"The restaurant is a bit pricey, and everything has to be ordered separately. Be prepared for a long wait in line. It’s a charming place, but quite loud and noisy. Valet service is available, but you don't drive up directly to the entrance, which seems unnecessary since they don't allow self-parking. I tried the iced chai tea, and it wasn't very good—it was barely sweetened. They also charge a whole dollar extra for blending a drink instead of serving it on ice. Overall, it's just an average spot for me. I would rate it 3 stars, definitely not a 4 or 5 star establishment."
