"I’ll start with the positives, and there are many. The brisket sandwich was the best I’ve ever had, especially the one topped with fried jalapeños. It was genuinely delicious, featuring hand-breaded jalapeños, perfectly cooked brisket and bacon, all on an excellent roll. There were also three homemade BBQ sauces that were really tasty. The hush puppies were outstanding—crispy on the outside and soft and flavorful inside. We enjoyed the fries, the catfish, and the sausage as well.
The service was excellent, too. The young lady at the front was a delight to interact with, providing some of the best service we've experienced in a long time.
Now for the downsides: the prices were quite steep. $7 for 7 hush puppies, which makes it a dollar each. The brisket sandwich was $18 and didn’t even come with a side or a pickle. The BBQ platter was also $18 but included just two thin, dry slices of turkey that couldn’t have weighed more than 2 oz, along with three small chunks of sausage. They even charged an extra dollar for a catfish filet. And for a single deli sandwich, it was again $18 with no sides or pickles.
I love good food across Florida and don’t mind paying for it, but in this case, I didn’t feel like I received good value for what we paid. The total for a meal for two adults and two kids came to $70, and we left still feeling hungry."
