"Peri Ela, located on Lexington Avenue, has been open for 13 years. We used to frequent this restaurant when we lived nearby, but have since moved. We recently returned for dinner before an event at the 92nd St Y, which is just a block north. The charming venue has remained unchanged, with romantic lace curtains, vintage lighting, oversized artwork featuring women, warm decorative wood walls, and a beautiful bar. The Mediterranean food and wine selection is extensive and delicious, served by the owner and her two daughters who are charming. The dining experience is romantic, cozy, quiet, and delicious, set in a 10-star ambiance that is unmatched in the UES Carnegie Hill neighborhood. The only downside is the small font on the menus, so bring a flashlight if dining at night."
