"My family took me to OG to celebrate my 50th birthday. My brother had made a reservation for 10 people at 6:15 PM. Since it was a Tuesday, the restaurant wasn’t too busy, but we still had to wait until almost 7 PM to be seated. After that, we waited about 10 minutes for our two waitresses to arrive. Curiously, neither of them asked if we wanted drinks but instead inquired if we were ready to order food. Since we were splitting the bill, they wanted to take our orders based on how we planned to divide the costs. It was a bit odd, but we went along with it.
Once our orders were placed, we waited around 15 minutes before they brought out one of the two appetizers we ordered. About five minutes later, they served the salad, followed by the soup. When we mentioned that we were missing drinks (which we had ordered with our meals), it took another five minutes for them to finally bring those along with three waters. My drink was apparently still not ready at the bar, and the waitress made an excuse for the delay. By the time the main courses arrived for everyone else (I had been waiting with my soup and salad for quite a while), my daughter was disappointed to find that her medium rare sirloin looked more like an overcooked burger patty—far from medium rare. When a waitress finally brought out our missing appetizer and my drink, I mentioned the issue with the steak, and she kindly had it removed from the bill.
After we finished eating and were ready to leave, the waitresses came out with a cake my brother had brought and sang for me. I had to ask for a knife so I could cut and serve it to my family myself. We ended up leaving close to 9 PM, all feeling quite thirsty, as the waitresses vanished and we were never asked for refills or coffee with the cake.
While I enjoyed spending time with my family, the restaurant experience was a significant disappointment. With two servers on duty, I expected the service to be much better. I should also mention that this was my first return visit since a terrible Mother’s Day experience last year, when our table was completely forgotten after we received our drinks. We spoke to a manager, but we ended up leaving and going to Chick Fil A for food. At this point, I’m certain I won’t be coming back again!"
