"Tried this restaurant about 5 years ago and it was terrible, the chicken was rubbery, there was just nothing about anything we had that was better than mediocre. Although the dessert we had was good. We decided to give it another try after someone was raving about the short ribs. We had to get a reservation months in advance. I was expecting the food to be much better since it 's always so busy. I 'll start with the positives, service was good, food came out fairly quickly, they serve pretty good bread with both butter and olive oil dip, and all of that was really good. The french fries are fresh cut and those were also good, although the garlic and gorgonzola dipping sauces were quite bland. The key lime pie was fantastic although it was a pretty small piece for $12, extremely overpriced! Everything on the menu is overpriced. They had a sweet potato maple bourbon bisque that was really great, creamy texture and great flavor. My friend got the pork belly but was unimpressed. I was so excited for the short ribs, the waiter said they had been braised all day and that it 's a customer favorite. It was so disappointing, I went to cut into it with my fork expecting it to be tender and fall apart and it was so tough I had to use a knife to cut it, it was not tender. Flavor was mediocre. But the texture was extremely disappointing. The mashed potatoes were decent, nothing to write home about...as was the asparagus. Will definitely not be back, way overpriced for disappointing quality. If you want delicious, fork tender, fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, short rib... go to vault@237. response to owner* actually the waiter said maybe it was a bad cut or fatty that WASNT the issue. they were not cooked properly to be tender. why would i wait around for you to cook them for another 30 minutes til they were as tender they shouldve been in the 1st place?! as for bringing in water bottles we arent interested in drinking chemical tap water...i review restaurants regularly and you are the only person that has ever said a word about it...so no, most restaurants do not have that policy. you say you allowed us, as if you think you have the right to control if people drink their own filtered water. thats absurd!"

"This was our third trip to Whiskey Prime. Our first two experiences were lovely, this last trip was extremely disappointing to say the least. What is the purpose of making notes on a reservation if no one is going to read/pay attention to them. It is a rhetorical question of course, the reason is so you don't have to tell the entire dinning room that you are gluten free so don't bring the bread, and you are there to celebrate a special occasion... My husband and I both had the 8oz fillet, medium, with loaded bakers, and the asparagus. The steaks were cooked as ordered but they were extremely dry and flavorless. I tried smearing the butter from the bread basket on mine to give it some lubrication but it was useless. My husband's steak was equally bad. One should never have to order 3$ steak sauce to make fillet mignon edible. The potatoes were ridiculously huge, easily 3 times the size of the steak and barely warm enough to melt the butter. The service was sub par as well. We ran out of water mid meal and were never offered more, no offer of a second cocktail, and no offer of dessert. And the waiter dropped my husband's fork in his lap, tines down covered in not quite melted potato butter. When we mentioned the disappointing steaks we were simply told they would let the management know even though the steaks were sitting on the plates barely touched. We opted to get a doggy box for our steaks so at least our dog could eat them. It was a not so happy birthday meal."

"I have dined here 4 times in the past 3 months. I have been working here in Oxford on a temporary job contract so I eat out often. What do I like about Oxford Grillehouse? The food is excellent. I have ordered both filet and the catfish Mary which areboth excellent dishes. I have no complaints at all about the food quality. What do I not like? The Bar service does not meet theexpectations one would have when dining in a restaurant of this caliber. We usually sit at the bar so if you typically dine at atable you may not notice the inexperienced bartenders. The last 2 times we had a young and obviously new bartender. The couplenext to me ordered a martini. His response was we are out of martinis. Huh? Yes we ran out of triple sec. I was just as confusedas the couple sitting next to me. However he was very nice and I gave him a pass on his inexperience. However last night we hada different bartender. She was not that nice. She was obviously overworked and not in a good service minded mood. The couples oneither side of me were not happy with her and we ultimately decided to leave after a round of drinks. A meal here can run closeto 200/couple if you are having drinks. It is very clear to me that the bar is not on the level that meets expectations whendining at this establishment. My wifes glass of wine was obviously old. It was sour and had such a horrible smell I thought Iwas going to get sick for a moment. We could have sent it back but with all that was going on we decided to just cash out. So toconclude the food is great but if you are more into the bar setting then try somewhere else. (City Grocery upstairs) Any Nicebar with Rex Goliath bottles of wine prominently displayed shows me they really need a new wine rep. And if you don 't know whatRex Goliath is.. go to the grocery store and look for the cheapest bottle of wine available."
