"Food: 5 The food was all very delicious! The udon noodles were made and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed various udon bowls, including their white wine clam sauce, their duck broth, and their beef with fluffy egg. We also got their signature uni cream udon, which we liked it but not as much as we expected to. The uni is cooked so it has a milder flavor and firmer texture rather than the creamier texture you may have in sushi, and the cream sauce is decadent but quite heavy. We also enjoyed their karaage and assorted tempura which were both masterfully fried and delicious. Service: 5 We arrived at 11:30am on a Tuesday and waited about 15-20 minutes. You can put your name on a waitlist outside the restaurant, but you must have your whole party there and can’t wander away since they call your name manually. We had a very attentive and kind waiter! Atmosphere: 5 Great vibes overall. You can venture to the back of the restaurant to watch them prepare the food if you’re interested!"

"It 's been a few years since I 've found a sushi place willing to make sushi without rice due to personal dietary restrictions. I love sushi so finding two types of sushi rolls without rice made me a happy girl. My only wish is Orenji would make a sushi roll with the nori wrap in addition to the cucumber roll. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food and of the two types of non- rice rolls... 'Jade ' (with No rice, fresh cucumber wrapped. Inside: tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, cucumber- I opted for no ponzu sauce) and another one- lobster shrimp and avocado (I recall)... both were tasty but the lobster shrimp one was my favorite. We had prompt service and everyone enjoyed their meal. Now that I know I can get no rice sushi again I 'll be back!!! Orenji please add some non rice nori roll sushi to your menu!!"

"After having gone to Roy's for dinner every time we have been in the Islands for the last 25 years, we have chosen favorites and those we will not go back to. We love the original Roy's in Hawaii Kai and have enjoyed the Waikiki location as well. We will, however, not return to the Waikiki location. We found it to be very loud, the wait staff talked a mile a minute with no warmth, and my entree (my favorite macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi, was undercooked and mushy, with way too much sauce. My favorite dessert, the chocolate soufflé, collapsed in a puddle before I touched it which has never happened before. We were so disappointed, and can no longer recommend this location."
