"Having grown up in a culture where hospitality is paramount, this experience was disheartening. I felt deeply hurt by the interaction. Instead of offering any guidance on the menu, the staff member quickly said no, which felt more like an attack than a service. It would have been better to receive a polite refusal with an alternative suggestion, but instead, I was met with a brusque rejection.
The staff member seemed to take pleasure in making me uncomfortable, and I left without even having the chance to try the place out. The encounter deeply affected me, leaving me feeling dehumanized. As someone on the autism spectrum, social situations can be incredibly challenging for me, and this experience left me feeling overwhelmed and hurt."
