"Are you looking for the best crab fried rice of your life? If so, rest assured that this is going to be it. The things they are doing to that dish here are positively romantic. It's not just good, it's like a poem, it's like a flower, it's tender and gorgeous and sultry and it's a whole list of semi erotic adjectives that have no business describing rice and yet, here we are. It's fluffy like new snow, delicately seasoned to allow its few simple ingredients to shine both individually and in concert, and it's utterly festooned with luxurious tufts of crab meat. You're not going to beat this. And if you are, please drop me a line. This is not to overshadow the rest of the excellent menu at Thai Blvd Bistro, which is a cut above its competitors across the board. It's fresh, comforting, and thoughtfully made to the point of feeling refined. They do not traffic in rare regional specialties, the menu is nothing but straightforward Thai classics, so it's simply the quality which sets it apart. It's a humble place in a little strip mall which passersby could easily dismiss, but inside this tiny box is what I am prepared to ordain the best Thai food in the Valley, and possibly the entire West Side. In my experience, the best Thai in LA is decidedly in Koreatown, and in a direct side by side contest I do feel that the dishes at Sapp's (check it out) would emerge victorious, but as long as we are talking West Los Angeles, Thai Blvd Bistro is king. If you are a Jitlada devotee (famous East Side Thai spot, or you need to feel adventurous or vaguely renegade in your cuisine choices in order to feel alive, I'm afraid you will not be enticed by this simple menu. You may even righteously complain that it's Americanized, which I wouldn't fight you over. But if you can strap on your normie hat for a moment and go for some green papaya salad, Tom Yum, pad thai, and other people's choices, the kind served at 98% of all Thai restaurants in LA, I bet my bottom dollar that your tongue and your soul will be radiantly, resoundingly happy here. I'm not going to front and say that every day here is perfect I've had some dishes that were too sweet here, or days when the spiciness level was zero and the dishes accordingly lacked depth of character. But 4 times out of 5, it is fully deserving of the many praises above. The service is super friendly and always puts me in a good mood. There are only about 6 7 tables, its footprint is microscopic, but somehow I always find a seat. It's located in a perfectly ugly, perfectly Valley strip mall beside a Carniceria and an Arco gas station. If you have love for Thai food, you know that all of these are *good signs*! Best Thai in the Valley and the West Side. Get into it!"
