"What a nice, tasty addition to the neighborhood! Lower Haight is lucky to have a range of cuisines, from Thai and Japanese to Italian and Ethiopian, but it curiously lacked a solid Chinese spot. I am so glad YH Beijing opened up here. Two of my favorite dishes which we ordered were executed very competently here: beef pancakes and fish in hot chili oil. The beef pancakes were flavorful and crispy, and the fish was satisfyingly hot and spicy without being greasy. There are a number of my favorite dishes (xiao long bao, zazang noodles) on the menu also, along with meatless options that I am always happy to check out, so I am excited to come back and explore the menu. The restaurant looks fantastic after the recent remodel, and our server was absolutely wonderful and gave great recommendations. Give them a shot! UPDATE: Still as delicious as ever! They have updated their menu, but the mainstays are still there and still delicious, though we mourn the loss of the beef pan fried bao (unfortunately it's now pork). The mala chicken and songshu fish fillet are both fantastic chef's specials, and the fried tofu is a nice, crunchy appetizer. I tried the xiao long bao trío and really enjoyed all of them. The mala XLB were definitely an interesting and delicious twist, but the original pork remain my favorites."
