"Always liked Merakia and was sad to see it close for the pandemic. Meal was a frustrating, needless disappointment. Says it is most romantic spot in town. guess if darkness equals romantic OK. Started with what they call Lobster Soup. It was room temperature. Not being a send it back type I ate an otherwise decent soup. Lamb entree was right out of the fridge. Took minutes to get waiter who exclaimed with wonderment that the dish was freezing cold and that he would summon the manager. Returned, the dish was barely room temp. Perhaps Merakia is at the vanguard of a new energy saving trend: cold food. Baklava was very tasty. A Greek wine was fine.Service friendly, if invisible for stretches. On the way out spotted a fellow who looked like a manager. He said indeed he was. Told the story, his dopy response was: we're just getting back after pandemic closing. Next time, any problems ask for him. Despite many fine meals, doubt if I'll be taking him up on his offer Have never before said I would not recommend a restaurant, but a first for everything I guess. Too bad. Could easily be restored to its former state if care replace sloth."
