"The restaurant has a very cute, trendy vibe with an intimate dining room. Btw, parking can be a challenge but if you luck up get a parking spot directly outside the restaurant on Lancaster Avenue, it's free. The ramen...WOW! I had every intention of taking some home but nope...ate every last bit there! As a pescaterian, majority of the ramen dishes had pork broth BUT there was about 3-4 chicken/vegetable/shrimp ramen bowls. Since I had the Vegetable Miso Ramen on my 1st visit (highly recommend! , I tried the Green Curry Ramen and this dish too measured up! There's a full bar and I definitely want to return to try their sushi which I hear is great too. Ishmael was a great server! The only reason I'm giving Ramen Bar a 4 instead of 5 stars is because I asked for a little hot sauce to add to my ramen and the young lady gave me Bakudan which was delish but an additional $3 and didn't even advise beforehand (total pet peeve of mine ! I never heard of an additional charge for hot sauce and even so, generally a condiment charge is only $1-2; $3 is pretty steep. But go figures because if you add shrimp to the Vegetable Miso Ramen it's an additional $7. I guess they don't care about making things reasonable even though the restaurant is located on Drexel's campus. Also it would be nice if Ramen Bar's Happy Hour pricing returned like it had pre-pandemic (the HH menu is still on the restaurant's IG page ."

"Here's a personal recommendation for my wife's birthday. She loves sushi, especially omekase but may not like how formal some programs are. So, Hakashi seemed to fit the bill and I made a reservation on OT and said it was for a birthday party. I only give 3 start based on the treatment on arrival. The first service/host we met at the door looked up our reservation and offered us a party of 2, the absolutely worst places in the house. The first table was not even prepared for the guest, it was the employee break table, who had books and papers on it that need to be deleted before we sat i the worst place in the room, the second offer was at the bar, usually our favorite at a sushi spot, but these seats were at the end where there was not cooks and the space between other guests and the wall really remained just enough for one person, not even two chairs. When asked for the 5 open four tables, she said they were reserved. We started going, then she agreed to let us sit the worst of the five open tables. I still wanted to go, but my ingenious patient wife encouraged me to take the seat. Once we have set ourselves, things have become better. Grandmakase quality/taste was high 8/10. Our server was great. The ambience was simply fine, like a good neighborhood sushi restaurant, Kirkland plastic wrap box on the sushi counter, employee break table a little messy in the dinning room, decor a bit DIY, etc. but restaurant was very clean and bathroom was very clean and the other males seemed a fantastic time, shots with the chefs and many laughs. On the way 2 of the four remaining tables they said they were reserved never get space the 2 hours we were there and they were much better in the room. Food was good, decent value / quality but still not sure that I was back."

"3.5 stars. This review is just for their Sushi. None of the items from their Chong Qing Xiao Mian menu was available yet when I visited. I was told they would be available next week. I ended up ordering for takeout: 3 Maki Roll Special with Miso Soup $16.90): Shrimp Mango Avocado Roll, Eel Avocado Roll, and Salmon Cucumber Roll. For this price point, I’d say the sushi was good. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the rolls had the right amount of rice. The mangoes tasted not as ripe as I would have liked but also, they aren’t really in season anymore, which would account for the tartness. Super Crunchy Roll $14.50): the staff recommended this roll and I’m glad they did. I thought it was quite good. It was a spicy salmon avocado roll that was deep fried and topped with their house sauce. The portion was also good, and I would come back for this. This fast casual restaurant looks to be in their soft opening and some areas are still in construction. I actually thought they had been open a while ago, but I guess I was wrong. Also, I’m not sure if they are affiliated with the Chong Qing that is located in the New World Mall in Flushing. The staff while friendly couldn’t really tell me much. Strangely, we got a 20% discount on our order. The staff did not tell us about the discount, and we only found out when we looked at our receipt. If you are planning on visiting, try to go soon as I’m not sure how long the discount will last. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3"

"Previously loved kuro shiro, and they were my place for ramen in new haven. the vegan tantanmen are delicious. they make a cashew broth and it is so rich, creamy and nutty (combined with the sesame.) the vegan spicy nebel lacks in taste, it is very easy. I wanted to try the vegan shioyumen sometime, but I won't go back. my friend went with his friends to eat there and brought me the vegan tantanmen to dinner. it was late when he came home, so I saved it for the day after. I immediately saw that my tofu was blue and squirting (and the noodles where the tofu touched.) it was incredibly discouraging and disappointing, as this was freshened the day before. I called her and the guy who was picked up was extremely rude, repulsive and disgusting. I pointed out to offer any compensation and insisted that I had to drive there with a reception and it would not look in the system, would not accept a bank statement of the bill, or even a photo of the acknowledgement. when my friend went with friends, his friend in naugatuck paid the bill and had the physical reception (we are in ansonia.) to get a balance (if this) they told us to drive to naugatuck, to the entrance (20 min), then they drive to new haven (45 min), then they drive to home (30 min.) the type on the phone was always busy talking to me, always told me to talk to me. I've tried to call back, just that he can hang me up without a word. I did not go back and just made a new batch of noodles to house because the broth was separated from the rams and tofu was packed. 2 stars because it is great, they have vegan options."
