"Not sure where to begin-The meal was the worst meal I have had at a restaurant in years-We started with a salad-Waitress brought a salad i did not order-I did not argue but did not eat-next was Lobster Bisque-never showed until we asked and then came cold-Finally after another long wait came the main course-My husband had the calzone which he left half-not good-he always finishes or takes home was not interested in taking home.My course was supposed to be their specialty-shrimp with bacon on polenta-crab cake and fritter-served ice cold-polenta had to be the worst i have ever had-no flavor-they forgot it needs butter and cheese-shrimp was tough and bacon not cooked--probably should have asked waitress to take back but at that point ready to just leave and go home and have dinner-also specialty on web$19 at restaurant $28-left tip not too sure why-I would definitely skip-Lure is right next door and that is a wonderful restaurant"

"The location is fantastic. I was a bit dissapointed with the quality of the food but it was good. I was expecting more of an Italian experience. It is a nice go too but very normal as I was expecting more being in the old port of montreal."

"Ciao Villago was quite esquisite. We went for my dad 's birthday in a Friday night. It was pretty low key around 7:30, which is a nice change up for a Friday night. The food was phenomenal, the drink selection had a good variety. The only discouraging review I have about this restaurant was 1) parking (super tight and super narrow roads) and 2) the waiter was a serious up-seller. We are Italian and so we have a pretty good idea of what food is what but he felt inclined to try to explain how the meal options with meat selections as well as the different types of alcoholic drinks we 're so much more enjoyable (i.e. Salmon, filet). Not to mention I just didn 't feel like have a martini (or any alcoholic drink) that evening and the bartender accidentally made two mango martinis . Please. I just want to order some good Italian food and celebrate my dad 's birthday-not buy a car. Which by the way they don 't do anything special for birthdays. Just try to get to you to buy dessert so you can celebrate it! . There are several downtown Italian restaurants that compliment a small gelato dish on your birthday. But being new to town we wanted to try Villago out. Oh well. Food was still wonderful; the server was just irritating with his upselling."

"I've been dining here for 10 years, and this time was a letdown. The snapper special was an excessively large portion that was mealy, lacking flavor, and simply not good. They happily replaced it with the Chicken Parmesan, but unfortunately, that was disappointing too. It's really sad to see a local favorite decline."
