"My son and I stopped in to grab a bite to eat. We both ordered different corned beef sandwiches. My son had ordered the larger sandwich, which was priced the same as what I had ordered. When they arrived, I was actually a bit shocked to see the size difference between the two. My sandwich only had a few slices of meat versus the absolutely mound on his. I wouldn't have cared much, except were the exact same price with no additional items for the smaller one to compensate. Had we not ordered the same thing I would likely had not noticed or even said anything, but the side by side comparison was hard to notice. The only other issue was the sheer amount of oil(butter? that was in the sandwich was so overwhelming it was hard to eat. After it started getting a little cold, it was unappealing. I spoke to the waitress, who asked the manager to come over regarding the issue. I wasn't upset, but genuinely curious as to how the restaurant could charge the same for these two hugely disproportionate items. I wanted them to be able to see the sandwich size difference, since a visual reference helped. From our seat, I could see the manager's reaction to the waitresses comments. The manager went back to the bar and finished her conversation with the people at the bar, cleaned up and after about 10 minutes came over to resolve the issue. The manager explained that while his order should have had double the size, it shouldn't have been this big of a difference. She removed one sandwich from the bill and did provide a gift certificate for future use, but this wasn't really what I was looking for. She didn't address the question, which is how the restaurant justifies charging the same amount for two different amounts of food? This was just sort of shrugged off. Whether it's double or triple the size, that's a huge difference that someone setting the two meals side by side will question. Maybe it wasn't originally supposed to be that way, and someone who doesn't know the food served or the restaurant created this menu and price. I will use the gift card provided to visit them in the future and see if they have resolved these small issues."

"I recently visited Senor Lopez for the first time after a recommendation from a friend, and I was excited to discover they have vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered a queso flameado without chorizo, which is a delicious cheese dip with red sauce. We also tried the vegetarian fajitas and the vegetarian taco dinner. I appreciated the variety of choices available, including cactus tacos, huevo con papas, huevos con nopales (cactus), and mushroom tacos. Our server was courteous and did a great job answering our questions while also suggesting vegetarian options since it was our first visit. I would definitely return for more!"

"Very cute, homey pizzeria vibes but a little nicer than usual. Restaurant is very clean with a window into the kitchen where you can see them make your food. The server, Chris , was amazing and very knowledgeable about ingredients and allergies(gluten and vegetarian). We came in last minute and he accommodated us without any fuss. We were worried about keeping him late but he encouraged us to stay and be comfortable. The food itself came out very quickly and was *fantastic*. The portion sizes are very reasonable for the area and pricing. We were very hungry and so excited to find a gem like this! After having a terrible experience with Dimo's, this spot really came to the rescue."

"A wonderful jewel! Our first visit to Albany and found Grandmas cake a restaurant. The menu has a bit of everything, from soup to seafood, liver and onions, chicken, salads and of course, cakes. The menu has at least 20 goals to choose each day. I had blueberry cake with vanilla ice cream for dinner and a cup of steaming hot fresh coffee. My son had the liver and onions (it was not seasoned or salted). He likes it. May always add your own salt or pepper to your own taste. It was served with crisp bacon, and it came with 3 pages! He chose spinach salad with lemon vinaigrette, cole slaw and apple sauce. The apples were definitely fresh. He has his delicious meal (boiled perfectly! with the special cake of the season: Betsey Ross pie. This is a banana cream pipe with huge ripe strawberries, blueberries and whipped cream. The fresh whipped cream is the right thing, guys. Not cool. It's not too sweet. Everything was excellent. The service was also the first price. I highly recommend this place!"

"I haven't been to Boomers in ages, food always consistently, all 15 years I've gone there.I called for a delivery, I had forgotten name of sandwich, the girl who answered was quick to know the name. I asked her should I get curley or regular fries, she regular, ok I want those too. Bing bang boom done.She was excellent.A few minutes laters, oops need to put on card, called back told her.my name and order, she asked me for the card number in seconds, I gave it to her, bing bang boom. Done.Oh I had to tell her she's excellent and every take out restaurant needs someone like her, she was so pleasant, professional, and proficient.Considering last week 2 well known restaurants weren't doing take out last Friday night! Last night, called 4 restaurants, all different excuse, 1 new place didn't even answer the phone. Really tough to show your support when they don't answer. After 1 hr 20 mins. I quickly cooked a burger at home!! Just wanted a quick bite of take out, because I was so exhausted and sore from working that day!Thank you Boomers!"

"We ate at middle of the afternoon, so not a super busy period. The service was lackluster and we got switched to another server. As far as the food: the salmon was excellent!!! The scallops not so much....mediocre...they were chewy and did not taste good. One in our party ordered the char-grilled chicken wrap and it was ok,,,not much flavor. I'm not sure if this is a normal representation of the restaurant or not....it may have been the time, 4pm....but we will not be going back. The only reason we tried this restaurant is because it was open at this time. If we want3d to wait until 5pm, we would have gone to Monteros...."

"Been here twice and never like their hamburgers. It’s always dry and tasteless. They won’t cook any other way. If you like your hamburger rare or medium rare, you can forget about it. Only well done. Reservation is a joke. We made a reservation for 11:30am and didn’t get table until 11:55am. They kept seating party of 2 and 4 and these were walked in customers. They kept telling us it will be 10 minutes and after almost half an hour later we had a talk with a manager and they finally sat us down for party of 8. I only come here because some of my family members like eating here. Maybe I’ll try something different next time but not the hamburgers. Twice is enough for me. Or maybe just skip this place. BTW. Skip the double patties burger. They’re are the same size as the single patty burger. Ridiculous. Wish I had taken the pic of the double patties burger side by side with the single patty. Basically, single patty burger slice In half and they called double. Of course, they charged you more. Other reviews also mentioned about this double patties burger."

"The wait time is always close to an hour unless you go very early in the morning. The food is not the same as before, low quality and to make things worse there were little roaches in the plastic cup where they put the unwrapped straws. We showed the hostess the roaches, she grabbed the cup and walked away with it. When we asked the waitress what they were going to do about it, her response was I have to check with the manager to see if you can get a discount. She came back and said: the manager can't give a discount because we are very busy. I demand that I talk to the manager. He just listen to my complaint and walked away, the waitress came back and said: the manager said that you can only get a 10% discount. Not going there anymore."

"First time there… and we were very disappointed. Food was very sub-par and tasteless. Just very, very bland food. Ate from the lunch menu which was reasonably priced. But, the rest of the food was way overpriced. Taco meat was like sawdust and had no seasoning. Salsa was like a bowl of watery tomato sauce with some Frank’s Hot Sauce stirred in. No texture or substance. Waitress was pleasant, but manager was surly and indifferent to an error with our order. Made no attempt to accommodate. Too many excellent Mexican restaurants here in T-town to spend your money at Don Juan’s. Ventura’s, Loma’s and San Marco’s are all excellent. Also, didn’t like that they checked you out with a handheld machine that didn’t work well … and we never got to see the bill to see what we were being charged. Plus, made me uneasy when the Manager walked off with my credit card … just felt shady. We won’t be back."

"My bf and I went for brunch on a Saturday. I had the patty melt and he had the stuffed French toast and a carafe of mimosa, which he said was made the way it should be (he has worked in restaurants most of his life, and mostly in the finer dining establishments). The patty melt was very good for what it was, but not my ideal patty melt. The moondusted potatoes though, were AMAZING. My bf really enjoyed his meal and he can 't stop talking about how he wants to go back. Unfortunately I had surgery the following Friday and I can 't drive for a while, but as soon as I am all healed we will be back!Sorry, I took pictures after we had already finished ?We have been back, several times! Never disappoints! My boyfriend gets the same thing ? every time, but I keep changing up. I do have a hard time choosing between the potatoes and the grits. So far I have greatly enjoyed each entree. My only complaint is that they aren 't open in the evenings! I would be here multiple times a week if I could be, without a doubt. My favorite place for breakfast/brunch anywhere."

"I had the worst service I've ever experienced at this restaurant today, October 11, 2019, around noon. The place was not busy. A waitress seated us in the bar area, despite a sign indicating that it was closed. She chose this section because the tables without customers still had dirty dishes on them. After waiting 20-24 minutes, we finally received our glasses of water. Then, she moved us to the open section. I ended up with the wrong breakfast, and my wife's meal arrived at least 10 minutes after mine. Throughout this time, the two waitresses were arguing about their jobs, and the owner, Tony, seemed completely clueless. My breakfast was served cold, and my wife couldn't even eat her dry chicken pita. To top it off, there was no soap or towels in the restroom."

"I'd always heard their fried cod was very good. Well, tonight I had it delivered. When I opened the styrofoam carton it was full of grease. A piece actually broke apart when picking it up because it was so soggy. To heat it up I put it in my air fryer hoping it would get crispy again. 10 minutes in the air fryer is a very long time to heat something! It was still soggy! When I bit into a piece it was a disgusting mix of fish oil. Slimey! Slid right off my fork! It's as if they removed it from the deep fryer threw it into the carton without first draining it. Of course, the fries were swimming in grease, too. I called the manager to tell her my experience but was met with an attitude It was as if she didn't believe me. She did offer to make me a new meal, however, due to this meal I have completely lost my appetite it went in the trash! Not even going to give it to my dog. What a complete disappointment a waste of money! What is going on with this place? We ordered takeout a few weeks ago and it wasn't as good as it used to be. The food used to be superb but now schifoso. Might want to also brush up on your customer skills, as well!"

"My first time visiting this quaint little Cafe, Visiting at breakfast time. The food was excellent and just like homemade. The staff was friendly and gave us adequate time to make up our minds on our meals. The Sunday morning we visited, there seemed a stead stream of customers, it seemed to me that as soon as one of the tables were empty someone would walk through the door and fill the empty table. That is always a good sign the food is worth stopping in for I would definitely return if I am back in the area. "I am not sure of the ends and outs of how Sammios gets their Italian recipes but the spaghetti is subpar, the bread came out of a bag with no garlic or butter and just regular old bread. The salad is fresh. Thank God but this will never be a place I would come back to. I don't feel the love inside the restaurant which is old and run down and has a weird smell to it. And the care of the food is no care at all because I cook from scratch. I know what from scratch food tastes like and this wasn't it. I've gotten better spaghetti plates from my cafeteria lady when I was younger, than Sammios. I don't know and it's annoying to read the ratings and try to pull and pick from over a thousand people still giving it a 4.1 without the owner or the manager or whomever to not comment on any of the comments to let people know that you're trying to do and be better is wow to me. I know you guys have been in the community for a long time and I know you had another restaurant open but I just feel like this one just lacks the care. When I came to Sammios years ago, the food was delicious so I'm not sure what happened from then to now. I feel as if Sammio's is one of those restaurants that is just getting by because of their name they feel they can get away with just being subpar. I don't know. I was just really disappointed. The staff was kind and nice so I didn't have any problems with the staff. Just the rundown restaurant, the weird smell and the subpar food. I hope you guys do better!"
