"Sadly as locals attending an event on the strip we were excited to try Virgil’s. Unfortunately is was not good. Not only was the food brought to us cold but our server didn’t come check in. The brisket was not even warm and very rubbery. The trash ribs were cold as well but at least eatable. Ironically for a BBQ place the only thing arriving to the table hot and tasty was the veggie tacos our teen ordered. Our teen and I both order costly iced teas that were empty before food was delivered and no one came around for a refill. After reading some other reviews we realized this is an on going experience and customers blamed for not bringing it up to staff. This is terrible as our server was MIA for 20 minutes post food delivery. Bussing staff came and asked if we were finished and we said yes. Only at that point did our server come over and offered us our check if we were ready! I will pass this review to locals and visitors alike as it’s important to spend money at places wanting to do better and deliver excitable service. As a person in customer service for 25 years, the customer should never be to blame for poor performance."

"Food is good for what you pay, is delivered in very quick fashion, server was attentive and they provide warm, wet cloth wash clothes to clean up with at dinners end which as I have a goatee I really appreciated. Menu is typical BBQ fare but no baby backs unfortunately. We went with the brisket sandwiches which were good. BBQ is all about the sauce and I enjoyed their hot red and my wife liked their sweet version. They appear to have a Carolina yellow as well but didn't try it. Only minor quibbles, they provide bathroom cloth hand towels instead of paper napkins which I don't mind but my wife loathes for some reason. There's also just a single unisex, one person at a time restroom for this rather large restaurant so a bit of waiting but perhaps there was another somewhere else in the building. Didn't appear to offer straws for our drinks which seems to be common here in NYC restaurants."

"Tioga Downs mgmt contacted me. Food was terrible and we literally got sick from it. Svce was slow we were not even told about the valentines specials and iverheard the table next to us being told about them. Will not go back here"

"As soon as I realized they give you an entire towel as your napkin, I knew I was in for a treat. All the food was great. The sauce on the brisket was a little different than the sauce in the bottle, but good all the same. Their corn bread is the kind where you can really taste real corn which is a sign of good corn bread, but not my preference. If you ask for a wet nap, they give you a hot wet towel.
