"I typically don’t scrutinize the bill, but today I noticed that we were charged $1.50 for a small amount of salad dressing and $0.50 for an even smaller amount of malt vinegar. While an extra $2.00 isn't a huge deal, I believe that salad dressing should be included with the salad, and malt vinegar should come with the fish and chips.
I spoke to the management about the charges, but they insisted that these fees are standard. It seems they’ve decided it’s too costly to provide customers with the essentials that complete a meal. It's unfortunate because Kelly's serves very good fish and chips, and we always appreciate the service. However, I'm now hesitant to return for my favorite lunch. That translates to $20 to $40 a month, plus a 20% tip that won't benefit them in the long run. I don't think nickel-and-diming customers is a sustainable way to run a business."
