"Really disappointing microcosm for modern Lamorinda life.Grumpy greedy boomer stationed at the “front desk”; clearly it’s his family property and he’s there if he wants to be to chat and “greet” people he knows.Prices are high for a greasy spoon.They hired immigrant labor naturally) that is fantastic generous kind and incredibly hard working; but owners not interested in doing any real work …or waking up 4am to make pancakes for customers) so he’s just gonna chat with the “regulars” and the rest of the old Boomers of the past.I think owner just there “for the craic” because he’s bored and has all the land and wants to make even more money in Lamorinda, from family-owned property and existing “restaurant”.So this “project” is to make more money from an old building and feeds him when he’s hungry).They are partially using the “diner” for storage and other old furniture family “heirlooms” ; lots of old Rooms so why not fill them full of stuff; classic Lamorinda “business” venture."
