"We were hanging out at Grant Park, and I volunteered to grab the food and bring it back to them. I ended up waiting 20 minutes in the drive-through. It was frustrating, but I figured it was just part of the experience. I ordered six tacos, four bean and cheese burritos, three sides of rice, and three sides of beans, totaling $62. That felt a bit pricey to me. When they asked for a tip, I reluctantly added one, bringing the total to $68. Fine, I was just excited to surprise my family with a nice meal.
After paying, I received two small bags and distinctly asked, "Is that everything?" The staff assured me it was. When I returned to the park, however, I found that the tacos were missing—literally everything except for them. I was extremely disappointed. While my family started nibbling on the rest of the order, I dashed back to Jimboys to retrieve the missing tacos.
I tried calling multiple times to see if they could prepare the tacos quickly for me, but no one answered. I understood it was the lunch rush, but then things got worse. When I arrived inside, after waiting in line, I showed the receipt. Instead of helping me right away, the staff treated me like I was trying to scam them, saying, "Well, usually people come inside with the food right away. I guess we'll believe you THIS TIME." I couldn't believe it, especially after spending $62 plus a tip to be treated this way while missing lunch with my family.
Eventually, they replaced the six tacos, but by the time I got back to Grant Park, the food was cold and the tacos weren't even good enough to redeem the experience. There's another Jimboys at DOCo, and at this point, I’d choose to drive there rather than deal with this appalling service again. Goodbye, Jimboys on 29th—you’re dead to me."
