"My gyro was a disaster: it was missing hummus and kalamata olives, contained only four tiny pieces of lettuce about the size of a quarter, and despite adding sautéed mushrooms, I received just one thin slice. The avocado I requested was also left off, and there were only three minuscule strips of onion. Even worse, the gyro meat was notably skimpy, and I had asked for it to be cut in half, but it was served open-faced and not rolled at all. To top it off, the meat looked old and had obviously been sitting out for a while, making it inedible.
My daughter's sandwich was equally disappointing; it was missing both lettuce and French fries, and they added a spicy sauce that wasn’t mentioned in the description, rendering it inedible due to the excessive heat. There was no manager on duty to address our concerns—just staff who only took our name and number to pass along to the manager, who has yet to reach out.
When we tried to contact the other location for help, they didn’t have any evening manager available either and could only pass our information back to the Maple Grove store. This was completely useless. My daughter even drove back to return the food and request a refund, but so far, we have received no refund and no contact from a manager regarding this awful experience. It's outrageous that we had to make that trip to resolve this issue.
Do yourself a favor and choose somewhere else to eat. It seems the nighttime staff are teenagers working unsupervised, and the lack of managerial oversight shows. The Gyro Shack has poor customer service, and it’s clear they lack any quality control or proper training for their employees on what should go in each sandwich."
