"On my second visit, however, I was disappointed. I was with a family member this time and decided to order the same dish, but the roll I received was barely half of what I got on my first visit. The service was also not up to par; the server seemed unfamiliar with the menu and struggled to understand my order. Despite this, the food was still good, just not as great as before.
By my third visit, I was determined to get that same roll I loved. The family member I was with ordered six rolls, and while the server did their best to assist us, they still seemed unsure about what I was asking for. Nevertheless, the food remained tasty. However, I couldn't help but feel that there was some sort of favoritism towards the family member I was with. This reminds me of similar experiences I've had at other Asian restaurants owned by Asian people, where the staff seems to go the extra mile for those with familiar ties.
Is this a cultural thing, or just a coincidence? I’m not sure. Having lived in Korea for a year, I remember the food always being delicious and plentiful, and the service was great, especially since I often dined with my Korean friends.
Despite my mixed experiences, I definitely plan to return for the variety and flavor. Now, I'm on a mission to find that roll I had on my first visit and determined to be seen as the favored guest next time! The atmosphere is positive and clean, not overly fancy, but the cleanliness and wonderful aromas make it an inviting place."
