"The service was excellent. A rose on the table was a nice touch. Seating was a bit of an issue with most women sitting on a pillowed bench that was far too low compared to the table height. We were encouraged to sit on pillows to accomodate. Our placement in the restaurant was less than ideal as we faced the kitchen entrance on one side and a Bar TV on the other; not very elegant for a $400+ Valentine’s Day dinner. The appetizers were good over all. We ordered the scallops and the branzino for dinner. The options on the prix fixe menu were plentiful but there were a few little misses. The branzino was very good, but the spinach base was over salted so much it almost ruined the meal. Additionally, they left off my vegetables on my scallop plate, but rushed to fix it. The dessert was satisfying with a lemon tiramisu and a chocolate cake option. Overall, I was looking for an exceptional experience and not a great value. They delivered a B+."

"Great brunch. Made a mistake in trying a breakfast sandwich shop at the university recommended by yelp. One look at the menu and we make the decision to choose Everyday Kitchen, which was the right choice. I had a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and my wife had the eggs Benedict. We shared a Brussels sprouts with tomatoes and onions and everything was delicious. If you see a recommendation for “Cracked” change you mind and get a real brunch at everyday kitchen."

"My wife and I were here a few months ago and decided to return. This was our second visit since a flood devastated the building. We began with a pitcher of Sangria and ordered Chicken with mushrooms and Shrimp stuffed with crab meat. Both entrees were delicious. A salad was served with the meal. The dining room gets quite noisy, but it's worth the noise to enjoy truly outstanding food."

"Eat among the redwood trees but indoors on this cozy place. Reservations are always good, but i noticed people eating at the bar. We saw Santa and one of his lady elves dropping by. He is a bit early, but maybe he is checking out who is naughty and nice. We got seating on the tree side. They do light up some trees outside but hard to tell since the reflection of lights from the window was hard to see. We got two slices of complimentary bread. Extras will cost you $5. But the bread was so good, crispy crust and sourdough taste and soft in the inside. We were treated garbanzo bean cubes. Two little cubes. Delicious. The cream on top seems to have tiny Sriracha sauce. This is a set menu so i won't write about the choices. Check on line. We had quail and scallops first course. Bass and Sonoma chicken. Chocolate bar and Bourbon banana cream pie. You can tell if your guests like the food by how clean their plates are. Scallop was hugh (2). Quail was stuffed (my first choice). Fish skin was super crispy and so was the chicken, which came with super creamy sweet potato. I had the maitaka mushroom. I didn't taste the bourbon. That chocolate bar had hazelnut crust and so chocolatety! With espresso ice cream. At the very end, two complimenatarey little marmalade miniature tiny! cake. Service was great. Thank you Eder, our server. Delightful. 20% automatic service charge. You leave there $107 per person. Well worth it. I saw someone ordering ribeye and hamburger, so there are options. We weren't told, but i was super happy with what we got. The portion was big enough. No idea why someone commented small portions. We had a lovely dinner. It is super dark driving home. You with the high beam, lower them. Saw 3 deers nearby."

"We hired Personal Chef Max for our backyard gathering, and his Oxtail Tacos were absolutely incredible! You really have to try them to understand how good they are! "We had the rudest waiter. Young man, snobbish, and intentionally providing poor service. He rolled his eyes when we asked if there was a house red wine by the glass (apparently not). He didn't bring out our salads. Our meals where served already when he asked if we wanted them. It was the first time my wife and I shared our anniversary dinner with our children, years old, and they noticed his attitude too. The food was okay, the family style lasagna was a little too 'unstructured with too much cheese' and the gnocchi non savory and slightly overcooked. The floor plan does not provide for a separate dining space away from bar or kitchen. It is not as elegant as the previous location downtown. We will again celebrate our anniversary soon with our children (not there) this week. Important though, I will say the manager, and fellow employees, were watching the poor service and attitude of the server. The manager came at the end of meal and apologized and said our meal was on the house. My applause to the manager who I know will be careful about who he hires in the future"

"Nice atmosphere. A little crammed in though. Bumping into other customers as your sitting there eating. My thoughts on the staff and bar tender are as such. The server. Was amazing very attentive at the right times. And the lady whom i believe to be one of the owners was polite and kind. The bar tender was very good. The drink i got though sadly was a bit off. The olive juice in the martinis was old and tasted off. The food... The appetizer was a perfect combination of smokey and cheesey and the balsamic glaze was a nice finish touch to amplify the notes of the mozzarella and prosciutto. Was thoroughly impressed wirh the dish being a chef myself. This set my sights too high I believe as the main dish was sadly sub par to anything ive ever had. As seen from the pics the presentation was sloppy like really sloppy, not even bordering on the thoughts or look of rustic. I ordered the duck. Now i will give them credit for the portion size, although it was cold and the gravy which i assumed to be an attempt on a demi glaze reduction, was not good at all. The sauce had a skin on it and tasted terrible. Sadly took away from the duck all together and ruined the dish atop the already sad presentation. The vegtables were nice. My friend 's dish was actually very tasty. Chicken Alexander I believe. But then again from the pics you can see the sad sloppy set up as if it was from a buffet. Now being a chef my veiws and taste are different as such. But when im charged 25 dollars for a dish it could be done with a little more finesse. Like i said atmosphere was lovely and relaxed. But could be a very amazing experience if the kitchen stepped up a little more."

"The food and service at this restaurant are fantastic. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially with our two children. We all left feeling full and even had enough food leftover for two more meals. It's a great neighborhood spot with delicious Italian food. "This is a beautiful old brick building with a lot of history. The food was great and the atmosphere was fantastic! We enjoyed the musings of the piano man and I loved looking at all of the different brick work around the dining rooms. I would have loved to see the rooms at the inn upstairs! The second photo is of me in front of the 1790. Check out the window above me, is it a guest or ghost? Nearby activities: Just a couple of blocks from Starbucks and the famous Leopold's ice cream shop. Lots of historic homes to look at nearby. Walkability: Located centrally and were able to park in front of Starbucks and walk the two and a half blocks over with ease. Food drinks: Large selection of alcoholic beverages and soft drinks. "Update: Again, I really want to love this place, but again, my meal was just a little off. Ceaser salad was good, but the sea bass, ugh, first bite was fishy and the breading was kind of soggy. I picked around, 2 of the 4 pieces were very fishy, I could not eat it. The whole time, I am thinking this is Cod fish. It was not enjoyable. Pasta was good. Desserts were the highlight. I don't know. 2nd time, not liking the fish.First Review: Was here once, it was good. Looking forward to checking it out again. Went back again finally tonight, I want to really love this place, but it's just ok, not outstanding. I'll still give it 4 stars because I am an easy grader. The red sauce is kind average. The eggplant rolatini appetizer was nothing special at all. Flounder Francese also nothing special. I'll still go back and try again. Maybe I'll order something different."

"This is a very good restaurant in Abilene. The cocktail, the Abilene Reviver, their version of a corpse reviver was good and their wine selection was pretty good. I enjoyed my entree of their dinner special of venison and my wife had the Lighthouse pasta which she enjoyed. Glad we went and would gladly return when back in Abilene. Great location downtown too!
