"I have always driven by this pizza location. I have been told by many friends that they have solid pizza and I need to check them out. The name is Garibaldi's in Hoffman Estates. There are two locations for Garibaldi's. The first is in Arlington Heights and the second is in Hoffman Estates. I chose to go to the Hoffman Estates location to do this review of their pizza. The moment that you walk in it has a vibe like a 50s diner. The menu has so many items on it, such as Italian beef, burgers, hotdogs, and more. They are not only known just for pizza. It was lunchtime when I arrived at the location. The lunch rush was pretty busy. Many of the people that were ordering seemed like regulars. I asked to do a slice of sausage and pepperoni to try both to give a thorough review. I waited about 10 minutes for my slices to be ready. I am not sure if they were made to order or if they were premade. I will say both the slices were huge. I first tried the sausage slice. The crust was very crunchy. The dough did not have a lot of flavor, but I did like the texture. There was a ton of cheese which was good. The sauce also had a forgettable flavor. The sausage tasted like mediocre sausage. My best evaluation would be it tasted very much like Home Run pizza. The pepperoni had better flavor, but was extremely greasy, which was to be expected. The cheese immediately sloughed off and became a pile of cheese mess. The flavor of the pepperoni pizza, like I said, was better than the sausage. I do not think I would make an effort to order from here if I lived in the area. The pizza was just average at best. I may come back to Garibaldi's and try their other items on their menu."

"We began our meal with a Caesar salad and their fantastic garlic bread, both of which were perfect. However, when our main course arrived, we ordered the enormous meatball with pasta to share. Sadly, both the pasta and the meatball were excessively salty, making our dinner nearly inedible. At first, I wondered if it was just my taste buds, but even my partner, a fan of salt, could barely eat a few bites. I noticed a young woman at the table behind us who had ordered the same dish and was also struggling, so I leaned over to ask her if it was too salty. Her expression said it all. We were both relieved to find out we weren’t alone in our salty nightmare. To describe the meatball as dense as Tahoe's snow fog would be an affront to snow fog itself. Even with a knife, cutting through it felt like trying to saw through a thick branch. By that point, we knew there was nothing left to do but ask for a doggy bag and the check. We typically don’t complain about our food; we just choose not to return. We were simply looking for spaghetti and an enormous meatball, but it became clear that the pre-made sauce and the hand-formed meatball were all equally salty. I gave the experience two stars mainly because the waitstaff were incredibly sweet and our server was exceptional—she truly deserved a five-star rating. As for the food, I would rate it a minus three. In the end, it all balanced out since our two dogs didn’t mind the saltiness and treated it like their special night out. We even stopped for ice cream on the way home—just not the salted caramel!"

"Vinnie 's Pizza and Sub located is located off of Ryders Lane, 6-7 minutes outside of Rutgers Cook Campus. This pizzeria is the go to for my father and his co-worker when they are looking for a quick, delicious slice for lunch. The interior is friendly and the seats are similar to what you would see in a diner. The booths are comfortable and well cleaned/maintained. On a normal day around the lunch rush, you 'd find construction workers, police officers, laborers, and other working-class members from all occupations enjoying their lunches here. My dad 's general rule of thumb is that the best places to eat are where the construction workers and police eat. Vinnie 's is a great place to get a slice and they always have a huge variety on walking in. Normally I would get a plain or margherita slice for my review, but my dad 's go-to is the supreme slice or know locally as the works, so I decided to go with that one. The Works has pepperoni, sausage, peppers and onions loaded on top of the slice. Often eaten in the company of a fork to scoop up the piece that fall off, this slice was a full meal in one piece of pizza. The cheese and sauce aren 't as high-quality as some of the other pizzerias I 've eaten at, but they are definitely fine for the working man who isn 't too picky. The crust was medium thickness and more fluffy than crispy. The toppings were delicious and very filling. The trick to eating the slice without losing too many toppings is to use the folding method where the slice is folded in half hot-dog-style. This does a decent job of keeping the topping in place. Beware, however, that sometimes the slice will tear before the crust which will lead to some contents spilling onto the plate. I wish the bottom crust of the pizza were a little thicker and sturdier to prevent this, but this minor flaw doesn 't ruin the experience for me. I 've concluded that Vinnie 's is a decent spot, especially so if it can earn my father 's respect. I do appreciate grabbing a slice where the working man eats on the regular."
