"I came here brimming with high expectations and a Pulsd deal for an appetizer, two entrees, and drinks. I was so excited to try Bunker 's version of cha ca la vong (fish with dill, turmeric, vermicelli, peanuts, and basil), but it was a bit disappointing. The fish itself was perfectly cooked, crispy outside and tender and flaky inside, but the dish as a whole was kind of bland. It was better once I doused everything with two servings of fish sauce. I still haven 't found anything close to the cha ca la vong I had in Hanoi, but the search continues. As for the other items, the crab spring rolls were delicious, but you could 've removed the word crab and I think they 'd taste exactly the same. Nothing in them reminded me of crab, but the filling was very flavorful and I loved the soft glass noodles. The bo luc lac was underwhelming. The beef was kind of firm and chewy. The Bunker limeade (with lime, shiso, coconut sugar, and basil seeds) was refreshing but more sour than expected. I haven 't decided if that 's a good or bad thing yet. I am curious about their delicious-sounding banh mi options, but considering how annoying it is to get here from my cozy little spot in Brooklyn, I can 't see myself returning anytime soon."
