"Our experience dining at this restaurant was less than ideal. The server who took our order seemed in need of more training. We ordered Masala dosa and chicken Biryani, but when the food was served, we requested some chutney for the dosa, which was not brought to us. Dosa is typically served with chutney, so it felt incomplete without it. Despite doing the necessary work, the server seemed to forget about our table, not coming back to offer us water a second time. When we finished our meal, he simply brought the check without addressing our previous request. When I reminded him about the missing chutney, he arrogantly replied that he was busy and therefore forgot. It was disappointing to see him only focusing on taking orders from other tables and neglecting our needs. If I had the option, I would give this restaurant a rating of 0 stars. "WHAT A FIND! We've passed this nondescript little place a hundred times over the last six or seven years having no idea the treasures within. Finally, with dwindling options in our area (How many times can you do Italian, Japanese, Chinese, yadda-yadda? Those days are over. Yes, the prices are slightly north (just slightly of the regular fare but how often can you have authentic Tibetian/Nepalese prepared by an owner who was a SHERPA, (for real ...and knows his country's food? Adjust the dial for spicy Curries, Biryana, Volatile dumplings, beautiful Basmati rice and REALLY gracious hosts...this is not your grandmas recipe. I had Lamb in a rich curry sauce...(A lot of lamb for the money. Water refills about 6 times, beautiful copper cookery and warm and gracious servers. Don't miss this true Jewel...especially in the rarefied selections in Yorktown Heights...not known for its eclectic selections. Talking with the owner and discovering his epic journey from Kathmandu to Yorktown Heights was wonderful...(His brother still Sherpa's Everest hikers, but our man has no regrets and he's a lot warmer! Don't let the mall environment or the nail salons put you off...this place is awesome. I will definitely be back and they have great takeout service too! Go for it!"

"This restaurant is incredibly authentic and serves every customer diligently. The staff is fantastic, and the food is delicious. We enjoyed some chicken tikka masala, vindaloo, and naan. We also had some wine and Taj Mahal beer. Overall, we had a great time at this place and highly recommend it to everyone."

"I get that many places are understated, but asked twice for my glass of wine, and after 40 minutes our waiter would still not bring it. He missed half the ordered items and didn't apologize. We ran out of time, so we asked for boxes to take only our food, and as we all up boxes (5 minutes or less) he came over twice to see if we had paid and made us feel even more unhappy. We are not the way to complain and try to understand, but the way we were treated was very unpleasant. Overall, it would not recommend."

"This is one of my favorite restaurants in the upstate because their food is always fantastic and the atmosphere is amazing. That being said, I just reheated leftovers from my meal there last night and found a baby roach in my food. It went directly from the bowl on the table to the box to the fridge so there's almost no chance of it having gotten in after leaving the restaurant, and it was mixed into the lamb korma so well I barely saw it in the first place. Food was lovely but I might hesitate to eat here again after this experience... I ate most of the meal between last night and today before finding that roach and lord knows if there was anything else in there. Extra protein, I guess."

"I am leaning more toward 3.5 stars on this one. Lunch buffet is about $20 per person. You get access to some curries, rice, some dishes, and a few desserts. The naan is brought fresh to your table. You can opt for garlic naan. Price point is really good. Food was good, but I wasn 't so impressed with it. The best thing here was the tandoori chicken. It was juicy and flavorful. I def went for more than one! The garlic naan was a bit off though. I feel like they use a different ingredient, maybe it 's the flour? I 'm not an Indian food expert, but sadly it was not to my liking. The service is good. They regard you as sir or ma 'am . Plenty of parking here. It 's just off Rosemead on the I-10 freeway. Bathroom available. Credit card accepted."

"I will never ever visit this restaurant again. There are many things that have happened so I will never prefer to go again1. I ordered mango lasi and when I tasted it I saw some type of spice taste in it so I told the server to change it but he refused to change and his behaved so rudely.2. The amount they charged us in the bill and the amount which was the price menu was not the same. it was our mistake to crosscheck the bill again. we checked the bill but only the items not the amount.3. It's too pricey, we ordered lunch buffet My husband ordered 3 types of non veg curry but all the curries are same)4. After eating food me and my husband even our friends also got sick. Now the Conclusion is that we will never go to this restaurant again.Don't waste your money. The staff member was so rude.I am paying them for the food and services they are giving not for the insult their staff member did."

"Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She noted that it was nice to see kids with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"I 've eaten here many times, but had a bad experience last Tuesday night. The restaurant was not full at all, and they would not allow us to move to a quieter table, (or turn down the annoying TV that was blasting to no one. We finally moved tables, and ordered drinks. My tequila, lime, chile concoction was a disaster. I sent the drink back and the fix did not improve it. For $14 it should 've been a hit, but this was a total miss. The service was gruff, with little to no explanations offered to our questions on the menu (we had a vegan with us, so needed to know which dishes had dairy, etc. The food is very good, fresh and tasty, which is the only redeeming quality to this restaurant as the ambience, noise level, service and cocktails were all so bad."

"Looking for BOMB Indian food?! Then look no further! Natraj?s seriously blows all of the competitors out of the park with their high quality food. I came here originally because I was craving some chicken tikka masala. It?s hard to find food that packs serious value with quantity. While you can order entrees at much higher rates, they do have combo options you can take advantage of with the entrees that are already ready to serve and eat. Upon entry, I was immediately greeted and offered samples for just about everything I wanted to try. I knew what I wanted coming into it, but appreciated their effort in letting me try so many others. I settled on a 1-item combo which is only $9.99 and comes with rice and naan. You can also get garlic naan for only $0.69! Definitely recommend this as I regretted not doing so. The food is placed in a biodegradable container and plastic wrapped to avoid any spills during its ride home with you. I seriously appreciated that! I also appreciated that they offered to have sauce on my rice because I loooooooove the tikka masala sauce! When I got home, I inhaled the whole thing. I felt so bad that I couldn?t have taken a better shot of the combo meal because it just smelled so good that I did not want to waste any time. And that naan I was telling you about? DELICIOUS and such a huge portion! Seriously... what are you waiting for?! If you?re a fan of Indian food then definitely try this place out. I?m still full from eating the combo plate but I already cannot wait to come back for more!"

"I really like Himalayan Cafe, it's a nice spot in Old Town. My advice would be to get the dishes that are not Indian (momos, lamb roll, etc), that's where the food is especially good. Their curries are fine, but it's the Nepalese dishes that are the best."

"I ordered the vegetable samosa and tandoori shrimp at this restaurant, and they were fantastic! I genuinely enjoyed everything about this place. The food is outstanding, and the staff and servers are excellent. My friends and I visited last Saturday, and we’re excited to come back with more friends this Saturday. I used to shy away from Indian cuisine because of the spices and heat, but Vinny and Sam ensured my meal was mild, and it was simply delicious. My friends also loved their dishes. Plus, the BYOB policy is a nice bonus!"

"I am giving this place 5 bc they are by far the most well rounded restaurant I’ve been to in awhile. Their food is tasty, their service is by far the best I’ve received in an Indian restaurant. I moved from FL to CA just recently and wanted to try this place out. I am glad, this place has such a high bar for service and quality of Indian food. Things that stood out to me: since the moment we sat down, they were very attentive. They made us feel welcome. My water was never less than half full (HUGE PLUS) they listened to our order and got it correct! My wife ordered kulfi but forgot to mention she’s allergic to nuts and they brought us pistachio kulfi which they let me but also gave my wife mango kulfi (on the house) which really earned them few stars! The last star was earned when they noticed we didn’t use the plastic bag to pack our food, their server brought us a brown paper bag to put our left over containers in. This… goes beyond what we expect as customers and earned them their 5th star. Keep doing an amazing job guys! You’ve earned a loyal customer from here on out!"

"I visited this restaurant twice this week. The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the food (breakfast roll, lamb saag, and garlic naan) was so delicious that I returned a few days later to celebrate a friend's birthday. Since we were fasting from meat, we tried several of their many vegetarian and vegan options. The vegetable biryani was incredibly tasty and generous—it has me looking forward to my next meal. I highly recommend this restaurant!"

"This review is strictly on the service as the food has remained consistently good. I've also taken as much time as possible to allow for as an objective experience as possible. When the owners/staff are speaking animatedly and with more energy with other Indian patrons who are sitting at the bar--whether or not they are family friends, etc, but go completely silent when they serve, that's a red flag. I was in the mood for Indian food and was in the area running errands, so I decided to stop by. I didn't really think much of the interaction initially when I walked in and was seated, but this question is directed mainly at the man and woman whom I've seen the last two times I've been here. Is there a reason for the difference in demeanor? There was another family who came in and were seated for dinner shortly before I left, and I noticed they were treated the same way--with complete silence. I'd consider this a nuance of this place specifically since I've been to Indian restaurants in Diamond Bar, Ontario, and Pomona, and there are distinctly more interactive. I wouldn't consider this a nuance of introversion based on what I've seen or heard. I'm not looking to have a heart-to-heart conversation but at least have a basic level of interaction like a thank you or welcome. I thanked the man each time my water was refilled, and I also said thank you when leaving. NO REPLY at any point, and this is not an exaggeration or embellishment of the experience. This has been consistent. If you're going to order for takeout, you're fine. If you're good with silence, you're fine too. I'll stick with Curryland in Pomona. That's a rougher part of Pomona in a small and dense parking lot. The food there is just as good, and least there's an inkling of customer service. I'm done with this place."

"This establishment took me by surprise. I am so happy to share my experience here. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted respectfully, and kindly. I was placed at the most comfortable seating allowing me to study this eatery. From the traditional atmosphere, to the beautiful chandeliers, the amazing decor and colors,, to the most amazing tasting food I have enjoyed in years. Their spices perfectly blended for maximum flavorful experience. The tastes and atmosphere made me feel like I was eating in Mumbai. Traditional flavors, to excellent presentation, my experience here was breath taking. Thank you so much for an excellent meal. I will revisit this establishment on a regular basis now! Thank You Neha Palace, for the most memorable experience at your restaurant."

"The ambience was decent and the staff was good. Other than that, I can't say anything positive about this place. Our meals were lukewarm, mixed and some of the sides had no taste at all. While they have a bar and their own cocktails, if you ask for something that is not on the menu, you probably won't get it. And yes, unfortunately, even the cocktail drinks we ordered tasted awful. Bad bar staff. It also took them almost an hour to bring our food out. Two children's dishes, a chicken plate and crab cakes. I was very upset to say the least. Stay away. Go to Perry's Steakhouse next door. Exceptional food, service and bar area."
