"Overview: Sophisticated Chinese Cuisine. Talented, albeit, garrulous Owner. A MUST-TRY.It takes something for a busy person (me) to write a review. This spot deserves a look.Chinese food, to an outsider's palate can be complicated. It is easy for a Chinese restaurant owner to get lazy and give Americans food they will like. Orange chicken, some lo main, some steamed veggies, etc. And majority of us don't have a Zagat palate to discern. If its pretty good tasting, and the aftermath is manageable, we go for it.But this is Wen (the owner) and QuigDao is his spot is in Cambridge (one of the more sophisticated, perhaps slightly snobby areas on this Coast). Wen's food reflects all that.Yes, you can find all your typical orange chicken et al., but it is worth to take a little more effort with your chopsticks. Allow him to serve you fresh Lotus. Or steamed Chrysanthemum stems. His beef is excellent. (I haven't tried the pork) Wen (and his wife) is not your stereotypical Chinese restaurant owner. A bunch of accolades over the last 15 years attribute to that.I am not advocating for Chinese food in your daily regimen. But I INSIST you give this little place a try. And bring all your questions about cuisine, culture, and cooking processes Wen has deep expertise and is happy to talk. Or just try a take out. But with this particular spot, be bold. Try a few things you don't usually dare. You won't be disappointed. Excellent kitchen!"

"**Update: January 29, 2021** Last night, we decided to order Chinese food online. Since we didn’t have any paper menus at home, we turned to Google and Yelp to see what they had to offer. I decided to try the Chef's Special for the first time, specifically the Taiwan Style Rice Noodles, which came in a generous portion. The dish included glass noodles that are thinner than spaghetti, mixed with shredded chicken, bean sprouts, pea pods, shredded carrots, and onions. My sister mentioned she could see them preparing my meal right in the kitchen. I also ordered two egg rolls, and my sister picked up one package of them. I asked about almond cookies—though they’re not listed on the main menu, they are available separately in packs of four. My sister chose her favorite dish, the #18 Dinner Special: General Tao's Chicken, which comes with chicken fried rice, one egg roll, and a choice of drink (bottled water or soda) for $8.35, plus a little extra for her meal. She went out to pick up our takeout and tipped the staff in person. I took some photos, and I definitely plan to order from here again. I've seen glass noodles in grocery stores before and always wondered about their taste—now I know! We received two large containers, which means I have enough food for at least two more meals. My sister frequently orders from here and was also in the mood for Chinese food. She noticed at least seven other customers placing their orders in person and waiting for their meals, just like us. I always enjoy trying something different from the menu!"

"I am a picky eater so I never venture out to far but I must say, this place was DELICIOUS! So much so I thought about having it again tonight! Date night for two with the hubby; We ordered a bottle of Mia Rose Wine; Pretty good, it is from Spain and sweet enough for my liking! We ordered Soup Dumplings; AMAZING!!!!!!! Literally the best thing I have had in a long time. For those of you who are like me and have no idea what half this food is- the soup dumplings have pork inside with a broth and ours were perfect! Dinner; 1 plate of Sweet and Sour Sesame Chicken and 1 plate of Orange Chicken; I have never had such delicious crispy chicken with a nice glazed sauce such as this. Chinese takeout has nothing on this place! The portions were an entire plate worth, so much that we took some home! Each plate comes with steamed rice and if you eat all your rice, they give you more! So a bottle of wine, an appetizer and 2 dinner plates with unlimited rice and enough food to take home was about $56.00 total. I have paid a lot more at a worse restaurant with mediocre food, 1 glass of wine, 1 beer and terrible service. We will definitely be making this a favorite date night place because the food was superb! Also- our waiter spoke pretty decent English and took the time to explain what was in each dish we asked about as best he could! I can always appreciate someone taking their time to make us feel good about eating there. YUMM!!!!"
