"Here's a personal recommendation for my wife's birthday. She loves sushi, especially omekase but may not like how formal some programs are. So, Hakashi seemed to fit the bill and I made a reservation on OT and said it was for a birthday party. I only give 3 start based on the treatment on arrival. The first service/host we met at the door looked up our reservation and offered us a party of 2, the absolutely worst places in the house. The first table was not even prepared for the guest, it was the employee break table, who had books and papers on it that need to be deleted before we sat i the worst place in the room, the second offer was at the bar, usually our favorite at a sushi spot, but these seats were at the end where there was not cooks and the space between other guests and the wall really remained just enough for one person, not even two chairs. When asked for the 5 open four tables, she said they were reserved. We started going, then she agreed to let us sit the worst of the five open tables. I still wanted to go, but my ingenious patient wife encouraged me to take the seat. Once we have set ourselves, things have become better. Grandmakase quality/taste was high 8/10. Our server was great. The ambience was simply fine, like a good neighborhood sushi restaurant, Kirkland plastic wrap box on the sushi counter, employee break table a little messy in the dinning room, decor a bit DIY, etc. but restaurant was very clean and bathroom was very clean and the other males seemed a fantastic time, shots with the chefs and many laughs. On the way 2 of the four remaining tables they said they were reserved never get space the 2 hours we were there and they were much better in the room. Food was good, decent value / quality but still not sure that I was back."
