"One of the many restaurants in the San Diego Gas Lamp District, though one of the few that has been there 30 years. We happened to be there a night after a Padres game and 5th street was closed and very busy. Even without a baseball game, Asti is popular so reservations are a good idea even midweek. The restaurant is not very large and can get rather noisy. They also have tables outside in the front. We shared a Carpaccio de Mano, Cesare salad and Veal Picatta with a nice Chianti Reserva and nothing was left on any of the plates. The staff was busy but very attentive while dealing with a number of tables and preemptively moved us to a better table away from a large group trying to get to a table behind us. Would definitely eat here again when in the area."
