"Nothing about my order was stand out. Got a lamb gyro and they put way too much sauce on it. Literally leaking sauce out either end of the gyro. And they didn't even fold it, they just made it like a taco.My friend asked for chicken wings and french fries with ketchup salt and pepper on top, and instead of doing what she asked they just put packets of ketchup in our to-go bag.When asked why they did that and didn't put the condiments on top of the food as requested, the employees just shrugged and handed us ketchup packets. When asking about salt and pepper we were told they didn't have any.Chicken wings and french fries were unseasoned and had very little flavor.Also bought two pieces of cake, the four layer carrot cake slice was $7 plus tax. Ridiculously overpriced for what you're getting.The gyro with fries, four wings with fries, and two slices of cake were overpriced at $37.Two women working behind the counter, the black girl made me repeat myself at least half a dozen times and still didn't get the order right The white girl looked like a junkie and was rude to the black girl. At one point, The phone rings about half a dozen times in a row and instead of picking up the phone and putting taking the order she angrily asked the black girl to do pick up the phone and put the customer on hold... While she stood there doing nothing.Places kind of grungy and dirty looking. Very old building without regular maintenance.If zero stars were an option, they'd get it."

"If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would! This is a fantastic, old-school family-run restaurant that truly exceeds expectations for its customers. I discovered this gem many years ago while working in service (I've been in pest control for 20 years), and I’m quite particular about where I eat. Having been in numerous kitchens, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of cleanliness and the difference between owners who care and those who don’t. At Cheesy’s, you can tell that it’s not just a sub shop; it’s a passion and a way of life for them, and it shows in the quality of their food. The owner is a great guy who maintains a clean and tidy establishment. Everything here is fantastic, especially the crab!"

"I ordered the STEAK pizza and their buffalo wings. Starting with the pizza: the dough was atrocious and the cheese even tasted off. The biggest offense has to be the fact there was no steak in my steak pizza. Absolutely did not eat more than 2 bites (second bite because I couldn’t believe how bad the first one was). The wings… man let me tell you about the wings. They were the size of my girlfriends tiny fingers and tasted like actual left out food from last week. I’m pretty sure I tried to jump out my room window right after I took my first bite. Please do yourself a favor and order some other place (even if they charge 2X) until they have had like a decade to work on their food."

"On a humid summer evening on July 1st, my wife and I decided to explore local restaurants while supporting local businesses. After finding a gem called Pickle Nickel through a Google search, our group of 8 took a leisurely stroll to the restaurant. We were seated in the front room and handed menus to choose our drinks. I ordered the 50-50 burger, a mix of rough ground bacon and ground sirloin fried in a special sauce made of balsamic vinegar, rosemary, and maple syrup. The burger was delicious but messy, with the sauce oozing out. My wife enjoyed her bacon cheeseburger, and my mother-in-law and daughter opted for fries covered in bacon, cheese, and Pickle Nickel sauce, adding a spicy twist to the dish. Overall, if you're looking for exceptional burgers and fries, I highly recommend trying out Pickle Nickel."

"This restaurant is an absolute treasure—a little piece of South Philly right here. The subs are fantastic, and the staff is always friendly. Currently, they’re only offering takeout due to COVID restrictions. Simply give them a call to place your order and pick it up at the side kitchen window. My favorite is the 12-inch Italian sub with sweet peppers, and I can genuinely say it’s the best!"

"Had some time to kill before a late Sunday night flight and Ben's was one of the few places open. Imagine our delight when we saw a huge veg section on the menu. There's more clarity online to which items are vegan but we decided on a chili dog and an impossible sub. We modified both to be vegan (remove mayo, no cheese) and also got them with chili on top because why not?? Added a fry/drink combo and the total was less than $30 which I consider pretty affordable for airport food. Food came out fresh and I did notice the cooks using a separate area of the grill for the impossible patties which was a nice touch. Definitely not the cleanest food to eat but that’s what you get when you add the chili! Flavors were great and the portions were impressive, especially liked that the drinks were free refills and self serve. The lemonade was tasty and we were able to take our time, eat, sip, and watch Sunday night football. Highly recommend to everyone traveling through, just be prepared to grab some extra napkins especially if you’re planning on taking food to go!"

"I was born in 1970 in DC and was born and raised there until I left for the Army in 1988..so I know just a little about the historic spots to eat in DC. Ben's Chili Bowl is JUST OKAY...if you live here it probably is not your go-to for a half smoke. Especially since their prices are really absurd these days. I have never been a fan of the chili which is more like canned chili...Wendy's has a more robust chili. I am very fair and honest in my assessments of places to eat. On my last visit they only took cash YET there was a big ole ATM sitting right there in the lobby!! LOL. Bill Cosby aint from DC....Obama ain't from DC...Sure visit Ben's but also know that some street vendors selling Half Smokes in DC have very, very good Half Smokes!! Although you may just view them as just another hotdog stand. Pics represent the half smoke and chili sauce package."

"We have had mulch delivered numerous times from Mikes. The staff has always been friendly, and the prices are great. Plus, we would rather shop local to help as much as we can. Delivery is on time with no issues. We recently began to get subs from them as well. It is a small, no frills sub shop with kind, and friendly staff. They have a wide variety of subs and sandwiches, hot and cold choices, as well as a refrigerated area with cold pasta salads, milk, and other drinks. For $12 we got a hole sub. It was big enough to feed 4 people if needed. We got the turkey and cheese with LTOOV and seasoning. I am not sure if they ran out of lettuce at the time, but the lettuce was cut fresh with the slicer for our sandwich. Fresh, crispy lettuce is a game changer. The bread was perfect. It had a nice crust but soft on the inside to hold everything together nicely. We were going to order an egg sandwich since we heard they were excellent as well but their phone was ringing off the hook, we will save that for our next visit. We will continue to support this local gem!"
