"Very good food will draw us back. Beautiful special sushi roll, elegant on the plate. You can tell that they are understaffed, as the hostess was our server as well. However, she was very responsive, except one time when she failed to look up from her computer as I was trying to signal her. The room is drafty, a tad unpleasant in cold weather. Also, in terms of setting, there were no tablecloths. The place seemed somehow unfinished. Tables in the back were pushed together, with a corrugated box sitting there, waiting to be put away. What appeared to be servers ' or kitchen workers ' coats were draped over the chairs. The slapdash housekeeping gave the place a not-ready-for-prime-time feel. But the sushi and the hot appetizers were excellent."

"The lobster was good quality, but the batter was rather bland, and the lobster itself lacked seasoning. This meant we relied heavily on the mango sauce to flavor the tempura, which didn't quite create a balanced dish. The best bite was when I dipped it in soy sauce with a touch of mango sauce, which was delicious—but unfortunately, that was the last piece I had. For the main course, we shared sushi and sashimi for two. The portion was generous, and the standout fish were the white tuna, tuna, salmon, red snapper, and yellowtail belly. However, the regular yellowtail wasn't great; it had a sharp taste instead of the refreshing ocean flavor I expected and felt quite grainy. That said, the yellowtail belly was delicious, and both the spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll were delightful as well. The best part was the price—around $70 for the amount we ordered. The service was good, and I see great potential in the food. Overall, though, my experience was just average. I'd rate it 3.5 stars, but I'm bumping it up to 4 due to its affordability. I would definitely come back since I live nearby."

"This is now our go to sushi place in Redwood City. It’s been here 5 years…how are we just finding it?We sat at the sushi bar and we were very well taken care of by the guy (with great hair) preparing the sushi. We told him to surprise us and he served up deliciousness.Blue fin tuna, striped something from Japan, ocean trout, Japanese blue fish, hamachi toro, blue fin medium belly, salmon roll, San Francisco roll, another roll, salmon, shrimp nigiriI thought it was reasonably priced given what we ordered.We were there about 11:45 and we were the first ones there. We sat at the sushi bar and when we left, there were a few other occupied tables.Parking is tight."

"As for the food, the veggie gyoza here are the best I’ve had in New York City. They are perfectly roasted, and the filling is flavorful and well-seasoned. I usually order veggie sushi rolls when I visit. Our favorites are the peanut avocado roll and the potato tempura roll. I’ve also tried the pad Thai, which is a bit bland on its own, but adding Sriracha really enhances it. My husband has tried the ramen here and has told me he enjoys it. We’ve dined in and also ordered takeout, and the quality of the food has remained consistent every time."

"We had a fantastic meal at a restaurant near our hotel. We arrived at 9pm on a Friday and found the place to be quite busy, with empty plates on tables and four tables still filled with customers. There was only one server and three chefs working. The food was incredibly fresh and we only had to wait about 20 minutes from ordering to receiving our food. I ordered the gyoza soup, which was full of flavor, and the agedashi tofu, which had a light and tasty batter but I wished it had more dashi. My son enjoyed the steamed gyoza. For our main dishes, my son had the kid's shrimp hibachi, which was a generous portion, and I had the Galveston roll. The serving sizes were just right. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience."

"As a frequent customer, I ordered my usual Shrimp fried rice without egg, but it was mistakenly delivered with egg. I returned the next day with the receipt to have it replaced with the correct order, but the staff was rude and refused to accommodate my request. Despite my disappointment, I left the incorrect order with them and have decided not to order from this restaurant again. Having worked in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, I would never treat a customer in such a manner."

"We've had delivery from U Sushi (from their location in Brookline to North-ish Cambridge) three times over the past year and we can't thank them enough for surprising us and delighting us each time. I know it hasn't been an easy year for restaurants, but they really have excelled. We tend to get mixed sushi and sashimi to share and a roll or two. "This restaurant offers excellent sushi at affordable prices. I have visited several times and have always been pleased with the generous portions and wide variety of choices. The sushi dinner I ordered (chef's choice) included tuna, salmon, mackerel, whitetail, eel, shrimp, crab, and octopus. The California roll with avocado was particularly delicious. I enjoyed two plates of food and a beer for around $45, which was a much better deal than the $17 burger and fries I had at O'Hare Airport on my way here. It was a relief to find a place with good quality food that didn't break the bank."

"Normally this place is great. Tonight they let us down pretty badly. We ordered Harumaki (spring rolls), Crab Rangoons, and the Chicken&Steak hibachi. The meat was very over cooked, steak was well done and chicken was as dry as the Sahara. The rice was ?dry?, maybe tepid and seemed as if it had been microwaved. The veggies were decent, actually good; like usual. The rangoons.. what did we even get? They looked like mini calzones or maybe pizza rolls? Not sure.. the filling was 100% cream cheese with no crab or Krab, and I 'm not a fan of eating straight cream cheese. The spring rolls had almost no filling, it was simply fried dough with the smallest amount of cabbage and very, very few bits of shredded carrot. We are hoping this is a one off experience and once I have the gut to spend the money here again I will update my review.Again, it 's normally pretty good. Heck, even the clear soup tonight was very watered down. My wife thought I was crazy until I asked her to try it; because there 's no way they could get that wrong too .Hey, Yaki, we 're all facing financially more difficult times.. Please let this be a one-off, negative experience. We 've eaten your food for years and have never had this type of experience."

"My wife, my young daughter, and I explored the local restaurants in the Douglston area in search of a casual, quick Asian meal. We were craving ramen and sushi, and my wife discovered this restaurant. While there was no designated parking, there were ample parking options in the area. The restaurant was set up to accommodate small groups, but it tended to fill up quickly. We were able to find a spacious seating area that could easily accommodate our baby girl and her stroller. The ambiance was inviting and the restaurant was clean. The menu was easy to navigate, with a variety of sushi, rolls, and noodles to choose from. I ordered the Shiyu wheel, while my wife went for the Angry Dragon roll and the spicy seafood temple roll. The rolls were presented nicely and tasted great. The ramen was good overall, but the broth was a bit too salty. It could benefit from a lighter soy sauce for the base. Despite this, we enjoyed our dining experience and would definitely return in the future."

"It was entertaining. The kids are 17 and 12 years old and they love it. My son always wants to come here when he gets to pick. The food is delicious I can't think of one bad thing to say. The chef was funny I'd give him a 10. There were 4 of us and we tipped the chef and the wait staff all together the bill was $185 and worth every penny.Oh the kids loved the yum yum sauce that's what they called it. "This used to be my absolute favorite sushi restaurant. Everything was consistently excellent and incredibly delicious. However, I dined here last night and noticed that the menu has been significantly reduced, with many of my favorite dishes no longer available. The rolls we ordered were definitely different from what I remember, and unfortunately, not for the better. They were quite average. A friend mentioned that the restaurant is under new management, and I think it would be wise to return to the previous approach. If this is their new standard, I won’t be coming back anytime soon."
