"However, when I ordered again, the staff member returned from the fridge and told me the only dessert available was strawberry cheesecake. I was frustrated and asked her why she had confirmed the chocolate cake if they didn't have it. I felt it was unreasonable to make me drive 20 minutes for something they didn't actually have.
I decided to call back and ask to speak with a manager. However, the manager I spoke to clearly needs training in customer service and attention to detail, both for herself and her team. Her response was dismissive—she even said, "If you don't want to order from us, then don't," which indicated she didn’t care about losing a customer.
She gave excuses about everyone making mistakes and tried to justify the situation by mentioning how busy they were, claiming they had a large order to handle—specifically, 30 pizzas. Yet, when I arrived, the place was hardly busy; there were no customers, and the cash register was pretty much idle.
I understand that mistakes happen; we’re all human. But this was the second time it occurred, and a 20-minute drive just to find out my order was wrong is completely unacceptable. As a manager, it’s your responsibility to regularly review inventory and communicate with staff about what’s available. It seems there’s a lack of communication here.
An attentive and diligent employee should take the time to check for items in stock, even going into the back if necessary. Unfortunately, it seems some employees are just going through the motions for a paycheck."
