"When I finally ordered my four cheeseburgers without onions and pickles, the cashier was very friendly and provided great service. The food was piping hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious, even close to 2 a.m.!
White Castle is open 24 hours, and on weekends, the drive-thru can get quite busy between midnight and 3 a.m., so expect a wait of around 40 minutes, but rest assured, your food will be fresh and hot.
Looking back, White Castle started as a family-owned business in 1921 when Billy Ingram launched it with $700 and the idea of selling five-cent square hamburgers, which became famously known as Sliders. In 2014, Time Magazine recognized the Original Slider as the most influential burger of all time. The company packages its hamburgers in individual boxes to keep them warm and offers bags of them at a special rate. In 1932, customers could buy five hamburgers for just ten cents. Today, the Ingram family still owns White Castle System, Inc., which has expanded to include more locations and the introduction of frozen, microwavable hamburgers available in grocery stores."
