"I pointed out that the handwritten sign outside clearly stated it was the special for that evening, but he dismissed my comment. After the kitchen staff realized there were no oyster mushrooms available (which seemed to be common knowledge among the key employees), other waitstaff continued to promote the "oyster mushrooms and shrimp" special to other tables while the misleading sign remained out front. It was reminiscent of a South Park episode that features a repetitive "dumb, dumb, dumb" theme.
It's puzzling that the front of house went to the effort of making a sign for a dish that they weren’t serving. How does a restaurant not keep track of what they plan to offer as the daily special? I ordered the seafood pasta, which came on a bed of overcooked angel hair pasta. Our total bill came to $130 for myself, my husband, and our daughter. There are certainly better dining options in town, especially for a special occasion."
