"This was my first visit to the restaurant, and I completely understand why it has such high ratings. Wow! We started with Crab Rangoon and Golden Tofu for appetizers, both of which were simple but absolutely delicious. For our main courses, we tried the NG House Noodles with chicken and the Evil Jungle Curry, both bursting with amazing flavors. I was truly impressed by the variety of dishes and desserts on the menu. And the price was fantastic: for just $50.00, we enjoyed 2 appetizers, 2 main dishes, 2 soups, a mango cheesecake, and Korean sweet buttercream bread. I highly recommend this place. I can't express enough how much I appreciate the owners who prepare everything fresh. Absolutely amazing!"

"I?ve eaten a LOT of pho in greater Houston, and this place definitely ranks as one of the better places to go! I always get the combination beef! Some places don?t give you enough tendon and tripe, not this place! They don?t skimp and give nice portions of both! The broth is also excellent. You can tell they take their time and simmer it a long time. It?s definitely with a quick drive out 290 for a change of pace! They also offer bubble tea and other drinks, haven?t ordered those yet, but they look great! Update!! I tried their vermicelli bowl with pork! It was super yummy! Nice, thick pieces of pork, grilled perfectly! Delicious Viet egg roll on top, too!!"

"Great lunch. On my second visit recently I tried the five spice fried chicken, served with mashed potatoes and green beans. It was a unique preparation and very tasty. The service was very good as well. -----09 Oct, 2014----- Modern Asian with a sleek, sexy, cool presentation!. Had lunch here for my first visit today. While the name of the place is decidedly not Asian, and the street it's named for is an almost invisible alley, it's worth locating and giving it a try. The outside is contemporary and the inside is very modern, sleek and simple with a trendy feel that has that essence of being Asian without any obvious decorations. There are two dining areas, a nice bar and an outdoor "beer garden" under construction. Because of the number of surrounding businesses, you may find the parking lot full, but don't despair, there's plenty of seating inside and it's probably not as crowded as it might seem from the number of cars you see outside. My server was very friendly and prompt and checked on me several times throughout the meal. She noted a couple of things that were off the menu due to seasonal changes and that there is a different menu for dinner and lunch. I decided to go with the chicken curry, which is served on a bed of rice and is nicely topped with barely battered/fried green beans. It was delicious--and the perfect size for a modest lunch. The dish and some hot tea was about $10. I really liked it and will go back for dinner next time I'm in town."

"Super cute place! I highly recommend getting the Thai Tea, if you get it to go they put it in a super cute cup with a sealed lid. Food and service was over the top, the place is very hip and fun. It looks like it was mostly females running the business which I thought was kind of badass! I highly recommend and will be back!"

"The atmosphere and vibes were good for a downtown SJ boba cafe.The service took awhile for the order including the drinks. It was a Wednesday night, so not so busy, actually we were the only customers. But, for a party of 2, we stayed patient. When we finally received our order, we were anxious and ready to dig in! To our dismay, the taste lacked heavily in the fries and rice bowl. The temperature of our food was lukewarm, which was alarming since we had waited more than 20 minutes for our food. Because we were hungry, we ate it anyway. But it was just not tasty, not even the french fries. Quite a disappointment since there was a high rating on Google. As a big foodie, tried many different boba cafes in San Jose and greater Santa Clara county, it was below average compared to what's out there in San Jose.Atmosphere 8.5/10Service 7/10Food 5//10Overall, I just wouldn't come back"

"On the recommendation of a friend, I came out here with a group of friends to try their food. I think if you don 't really care about having authentic Vietnamese flavors , this restaurant would be pretty decent. But as a Vietnamese person I 'm pretty biased and have higher standards for ~my people~ LOL. From what I understand Star Anise is fusion, Vietnamese and American. But from what I 've seen tastes it 's more so Vietnamese dishes with substitutes that cater more so to the American tongue. Rice dish com tam) Pickled veggies are replaced by a chunk of mandarins and onions. Short ribs kind of plain , you can tell the marinade hasn 't set into the meat and was just more so brushed on Shaking Beef Flavors of the beef are not very traditionally Vietnamese for shaking beef, but more flavorful than the short ribs . Rather than potato, they sub it with mandarin and kale . Oof. How can you have shaking beef with no potato : . Tamarind wings couldn 't taste anything remotely close to tamarind unfortunately. Kind of salty. Salmon rolls can 't go wrong with salmon baby. Standard spring roll wrap but with salmon ! Taro i purple you drink The taro is left in like, thin strands in the drink that catches your throat on the way down. Unfortunately not a huge fan, I prefer Tapioca Express much more. Passion Fruit Lemonade Not bad , flavors were typical of what this drink is at other places. Fruity and tarty! Seating Indoor and outdoor available. Cute interior! Parking Lots of parking on the side. Overall , I would not pay these prices to have watered down Vietnamese food that isn 't authentic. If you really care about having true Vietnamese flavors just drive to SJ. This restaurant is white washed, but it 's in a techy area so understandable."

"I have been taking my students and mentees here for one on one lunches, at least once per week, if not twice, since the start of semester. And I wanted to like it I really did because it 's convenient, fast service and somewhat healthy... but my experience today was awful. So then I thought, why am I doing this??? Today I ordered the lemon grass pork vermicelli bowl, and the chunks of pork ? , we 're ALL FAT! And because last week I ordered the Pad Thai, and it was also less than satisfactory...noodles in ketchup sauce with absolutely no resemblance to the amazing Thai dish but I settled and said nothing , today I decided to complain.Well... they looked at me, when I complained, like... how dare she! And then I had to wait for a manager to acknowledge my complaint and request for something else... and then 20 minutes later, when my student had finished their meal, my replacement meal arrived. It was chicken pho.So tell me... what other pho soup place do you know that serves, sliced chicken luncheon meat as a chicken in pho soup? Enough!I will take my $34 per visit somewhere else! "Bibo's Bistro Bar is definitely one of Summerwood and Redemption Squares best kept secrets! I love the food and the amazing Happy Hour and Trivia night! "DD Mau’s Phó is amazing. The staff is considerate very engaging. I heard so many customers asking about dishes because they hadn’t ever tried (Vietnamese) a phò dish or báo. "If you're looking for a good Pho place with quick service and good flavor, this is your place. The hot noodle soup portions are just a single size now, and quite honestly are pretty damn big. They will accommodate you though if you want to order one portions ND get two smaller bowls to split. It's a pretty popular location and can get pretty busy during weekday lunch times, so get there early."

"Food tasted good and was delicious. But the condition of the restaurant and the service was extremely poor. When we walked in it was not busy, but every single table was dirty and had a mess on it. We had to go and find someone in the back and ask them to clean off a table. The whole time we were there, which was for an hour and half, they did not clean a single other table except for 2 people that came in. There was an extreme lack of attentiveness or any kind of service really. Our order was wrong even after confirming it when placing it. Our drinks (even just waters) were brought out after the food, and only because we asked for them again. One food order was completely missed and not even put in even though it was written down. This was my order so I had to sit there and wait while everyone else was eating. All 4 pho's had very little meat in it. They charge per egg/spring roll which is ridiculous. At least give me 2 for the price. They charged for extra bean sprouts. What kind of pho place skimps on bean sprouts? Had to go and find someone in the back in order to pay. They didn't know how to pay with cash and card. Gratuity was added to the bill even though we were only a group of 5. I feel like I should get that gratuity back because they didn't even provide any kind of a service. But I just wanted to pay and get out of there by that point. Overall a very poor level of service and cleanliness and this will prevent me from ever returning."
