"Manna House has multiple locations throughout Manhattan Chinatown, but this is the location I always go to. It's small inside, but they are friendly, fast, and efficient. I would say it's one of my favorite Chinese bakeries in the area! Cash only!! Things they do really well: taro bao, ji wei bao cocktail coconut bao , cha siu bao SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE SUPER POPULAR SPOT ON BAYARD, no grisly fat chunks, and all lean bbq pork! , bo lo bao pineapple bao , coconut peanut mochi, sponge cake. And one of my absolute favorite items is their lao po bing winter melon cake. It's super flaky but without too much breading on the outside, and the inside winter melon filling is sooo addictive, not too sweet, with the perfect texture. Ever since the OG lao po bing bakery closed on Mott Street, this is the only place I can buy lao po bing now. They also do birthday special occasion cakes, as well you can pay a deposit and pay the remaining balance when you pick up the cake. I got a mixed fruit vanilla sponge cake for my toddler's school birthday party from here, and they did a beautiful job. From what I heard, the kids really enjoyed the cake, but I unfortunately cannot report back on taste since I never had the opportunity to have a bite. : . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3"
