"Someone likened Fournos Theophilos to Eataly when describing it to me. Perhaps but on a much smaller scale. Fournos Theophilos is thoughtfully put together, with informal seating and excellent cooked food. My party of four adults and one child met for brunch there. The portions are well-priced. Everyone’s dish arrived perfectly salted, no need for any additional. I had a tomato soup with feta swirl in the middle. (I am sharing a picture here but forgot to take it before stirring the bowl. I also had a mac-n-cheese dish and it arrived with firm pasta. Very tasty. The rest of the adults ordered egg-based dishes and the child went for a cheese pie. We also had one dessert, a bougatsa, which was sweet and creamy and had firm phyllo. Five orders, beverages and coffees plus one dessert all came to a little under $100. Seating is comfortable and tables are well-spaced. You will not be sitting on top of one another. The bathrooms are utilitarian. There is a small Greek market in the center (hence the “Eataly” interpretation from my friend with some excellent selections. Spanakopita (spinach pie looks fresh (you can tell and there are jarred sweets and Greek beverages. I even purchased a tote bag to carry my goodies away. PS: How does Fournos Theophilos differ from GRK? They both offer “fast” Greek food. GRK specializes in grilled food, like souvlaki, and offers the occasional baked dish, like spanakopita. Fournos Theophilos is “home-cooked” and has the market."
