"The Lobster in the Jambalaya was very overcooked , The jambalaya it self was inedible . Seared Brick Chicken was atleast edible but nothing at all special . Mashed potatoes were good tho .. its border line unethical to charge the prices they do for food I wouldnt feed to my dog .. i wish I could give this place negative stars ."

"I understand it was the morning after Gasparilla, but we go for brunch at least twice a month and really have noticed the service and speed has drastically changed. When we got there we joked with the hostess that there was no way we would be there for 2 hours… well, we were, but not by choice. Even drinks from the bar took forever. Hopefully it will change bc we love that spot!"

"Good but not fantastic. The interior was decorated beautifully and it was cool to get a very traditional, old fashioned New Orleans dining experience. I enjoyed my red fish with oyster sauce dish, though it was a little small. Definitely get an appetizer and an entree if you get a seafood dish here. The creme brulee was quite fun with the fleur de lis powdered sugar design, but I wish the plate had been deeper and smaller so it was more creamy, it was a little overcooked. A couple of people in my group ordered medium well cooked steaks but they were very pink in the middle (like a half inch thick). Overall a fun experience as long as you expect it to be old fashioned."

"Had to make it to Penelope’s on our engagement replay weekend! Visited for brunch 7 years ago the day after we were engaged and had and wanted to relive that experience. Start to finish it was just as wonderful. I went with the crab cake Benedict special of the day which was served in a croissant while Josh packed an omelette full of goodies spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, cheese and bacon. Both dishes came with a side of their breakfast potatoes and they brought a plate of biscuits with a delightful jam. Hands down hope, pray, call ahead whatever your vibe that the crab cake Bennie is being served the day you visit because it was da$n delicious. Our server happened to be the bartender and he was a pro managing a bar full of customers and drinks for the restaurant. Also as a side note they have two outdoor seating areas that are heated during the colder season. Everyone should give this restaurant a try you won’t be disappointed."
