"?Big Sam?s counter has 6 seats which have the best view in the house for understanding of what is going on here which is classic diner style short-order food service. Breakfast/lunch/dinner fare is simple, straight forward and delicious. Cooking is done in the open in tight space by well choreographed skilled team serving food efficiently that delights their customers. I was there for the first time on Monday, Labor Day, arriving just as the first wave breakfast line was burned minutes before the switch to the lunch menu. All seats filled and my friend, who introduced me to Big Sam?s, and I got seats at the counter directly across from the kitchen. I sat at the end of the counter where the orders come in-and-out from the severs on the floor and could appreciate the hum of the operation at peak capacity. I started off with a long pour **** Mary in a plastic cup, rim coated with Old Bay and squeeze of lime. I cannot recall having pancakes any better than the batter served here. Bacon was perfect. We came back the next morning, Tuesday, for breakfast; eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast for me before leaving on the trip home. Seated in the back this time at a table next to the windows having view of the water. Now I am a regular."
