"When I placed the order online, I mistakenly thought I was ordering from the truck, which is partially my fault. However, I believe it would be helpful for them to display the food truck's phone number on their website. When I arrived at the truck to pick up my order, I was politely informed that my food was actually at the store, so I made the half-hour drive there.
On the way, I called the store 11 times, only to receive an automated message each time. Eventually, they called me to ask if I was still coming for my order. I explained my delay and mentioned the phone issues, but they just responded with, "That's interesting. How much farther away are you?" I found that a bit rude, but I let it go.
When I arrived, they were in the process of packing our food, and I appreciated that it was freshly prepared considering the communication challenges. The employee there apologized for the phone problems, mentioning it had been down for the last hour. I suggested they consider using call forwarding, and he said he would look into it.
Overall, the pick-up experience was pleasant, and the staff seemed friendly. Once we got home and tried the food, it was decent. My fiancé had the sausage, and I ordered chicken. I would have liked a bit more meat in my dish, but I still enjoyed it. He particularly liked the coleslaw and mac and cheese, although he found the sausage a little dry. The mac and cheese seemed slightly overcooked, which could be attributed to the half-hour drive home.
As for the roll and cornbread muffin, they seemed store-bought and weren't anything special. The muffin was small and dense; I only managed to eat half of it before deciding to toss the rest. I'm not sure if we'll give this place another try, but I wish the owners and their family the best of luck."
