"I visited the Deli for Father's Day, and it was surprisingly empty. We were seated at a broken table that wobbled, so we relocated to another table that was slightly better, but we had to grab chairs from a different table because there weren't enough at ours. I hadn't been to the Deli in about a year, and I noticed that the prices have gone up, while the portion of meat in the sandwiches has shrunk, and the quality of the meat has declined as well. For dessert, we ordered a brownie with ice cream, only to find out they were out of brownies. We then requested cookies with sprinkles, but there were none available either. In the end, we opted for some mini-danish pastries, which tasted stale, as if they were a day old, despite being offered at a discount."

"Just had lunch at this lovely place in Calabasas, it’s like a deli style restaurant very peaceful and nice to grab lunch , prices are fair and good . Great salads , breakfast options and a lunch menu for deli style sandwiches and soups. I got the Che blitz was super tasty and my fri ordered their famous maza ball soup which he loved. Very relaxing vibe if ur looking to catch some relaxing time to get a quick lunch. Our server was really nice and the food comes out super fast no long waits."

"My wife and I have dined at Short Hills several times and have always enjoyed our meals. However, our most recent visit with another couple who had never been there was quite disappointing. We had just an hour before graduation, and our waitress had a rather unfriendly attitude. One of our friends ordered a hot corned beef sandwich, but it was served cold, and the waitress seemed annoyed that she had to take it back to the kitchen. My potato pancakes were overcooked and lacked flavor. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience."

"Alice was our bartender and server, and she was incredible! Her personality, suggestions, and overall knowledge were outstanding. My wife and I will definitely be returning, and we'll also recommend this place to our friends and family. It was the best dining experience we've had all year!"

"Last night we had a party of three and decided to eat in Ruven's. We've been having breakfast for a long time and last night, for the first time dinner guests. Our server was attentive and accommodating. Our meals were served, a dinner was unacceptable. Half a roasted chicken was boiled and the green beans burned. I decided to discuss this with the manager. When I told him that the meal was overcooked, he informed me that he saw my wife cut into the chicken and told me that the white meat of the chicken will be dry. That was an interesting feedback considering that they were busy, and he never saw our way. I found his comments unacceptable, and an apology was never offered. In addition, we were calculated for the side salad and ice tea that was part of the dinner. That was also unacceptable. A manager who does not accept feedback tells me that I'm basically wrong doesn't belong to the business. This was our last time we feed at Ruvens and I will share our experience with friends and family. Totally unacceptable and insulting behavior. There are many other ways to eat in the area and lose customers will not build your business when you take care."

"JB's Deli is a cute local staple. They have such a big menu! They have sandwiches, baked goods, deli salads, plus a pharmacy in the back. I got their veggie and cheese sandwich and paid extra for extra cheese and avocado. The sandwich comes with cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and red onion. You can choose a side of pasta salad, baked beans, or chips, and it comes with a pickle. The sandwich was good, a very typical vegetarian sandwich. The best part of the sandwich was the amount of cheese they put on it and the onion bun it came on. The veggie sandwich didn't have any pizzazz though! I've been spoiled with how creative people have gotten with veggie sandwiches micro greens, beets, hummus. I just wanted a little more! Although I wouldn't come back for this sandwich, they still had so many other vegetarian options that I would come back for, such as the pasta salad. The pasta salad had a lot of fresh herbs and was very yummy. They also had breakfast sandwiches, baked goods, baked beans, potato pancakes, blintzs. knishes, bagels, and more. Plenty of options! The inside of the deli is so cute. It seems like a classic old Chicago building with the tile floor, exposed brick wall, and ornate ceiling. There is some outdoor seating along the sidewalk if you have a nice day and want to eat outside. Otherwise they have additional seating behind the cashier. The deli is right off Clark street, so you can usually find parking or take the 22 bus. I would definitely come back here! It would be a great place to grab some food for a picnic by the lake."

"This was the best place on the west side that could accommodate 7 people at a low or moderate noise level and a varied menu. Being a vegetarian, I didn't have a lot of food choices, but had the veggie burger which was large on bun and slim on burger. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't recommend it. Luckily I was there to get together with friends and food wasn't as important. For meat eaters, the menu looked great and everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals ample portions several people had doggie bags to go. The service was warm and friendly we were there almost 3 hours without feeling rushed, even at lunch on a holiday weekend."

"I haven't been to Jerry's in a long time, so I was very excited for a delicious delicatessen experience. We went between lunch and dinner, so the parking in the back of the building was convenient. The restaurant was not very busy, which was unusual for a deli. The waiter promptly took our drink orders for iced tea, which was well-brewed and not bitter. We were served delicious pickles and bagel chips while we waited. The pickles were perfect - crispy and not too salty. I am quite picky about my pickles! The waiter took our orders and our food arrived quickly. I ordered the pastrami sandwich with coleslaw. The bread was dry and disappointing, lacking the crisp crust and soft center I expected. The coleslaw was good - sweet and juicy, which I enjoyed. The pastrami was good, but for the price of $19+, I was hoping for something more exciting and generous. My husband ordered a whole brisket sandwich with applesauce, but was initially only served half a sandwich with coleslaw and potato salad. After we pointed out the mistake, they brought the other half of the sandwich and the applesauce. He said the sandwich was okay. Our friends had the half pastrami sandwich and sweet and sour soup, which they loved. The cup of soup was quite large, more like a bowl. I wish I had ordered the matzo ball soup. Overall, it was an okay experience - not bad, but nothing special."

"This restaurant has a classic NYC vibe reminiscent of Katz's Deli. The menu offers a wide range of traditional Jewish and American dishes. The standout item is the massive corned beef and pastrami sandwich—it’s simply the best. Don’t forget to pair it with one or two sides of Steve’s Russian dressing for an extra kick. The matzo soup and kreplach soup are both fantastic, and the Bergedorf salad is remarkable as well—it's a full meal in a salad!"

"Frustrated with the experience at this restaurant. I paid $8.50 for a small coffee and a poppy seed bagel with cinnamon nut cream cheese. The manager did not inform me of the total amount owed, only swiping my card without explanation. The toaster they used did not properly heat up my bagel. It is time for me to look for a new place to eat. However, the rest of the staff were hardworking, polite, and friendly."

"I grew up in Brooklyn and this is definitely a NY deli food delicious. Prices are pretty steep. Ruby is $19.95, but it's a crowded sandwich. To eat a lot. I was here because it's the only place to get Sable. Very expensive $60 a pound, but they fly it from New York. Nova Lox is also $60 a pound that is too high Central Market sells some excellent Nova Lox for half. Sable is so delicious I pay her price because I use it to have it delivered from NY and overnight ship alone was $50 Only happy they have Sable at all. Your Post Oak Blvd Store is the only one to sell it. Looks like ACME Sable, this is the best"

"FOUND MOLD! HORRIBLE customer service! I ordered a container of the walnut raisin cream cheese. I found mold inside. I went back to the store to show them. The lady behind the counter said “It’s always like that, there are always pieces of white.” I said, “but there’s fuzz on it, that’s mold”. She offered to exchange it for a new one. I opened the new one in front of her and said, “This one doesn’t have any mold” which was obvious. I honestly can’t believe there was no apology and that she was denying that it was mold. I should report this incident to the local health department."

"Last two times I ate the Brisket and the Steak. I was very disappointed at her. Both times the meat was dry and chewing. I suggest you stick to the Deli plates or the burgers. Even when I ordered a diet coke, I was told they were out. How to run a restaurant from one of the most popular soft drinks. After dinner, the waiter brought the dessert dish. I chose a Danish. What a surprise that was also dried out. The only plus for the whole evening was or wait. He was very attentive and offered to inform the chef about the problems I had."
